Hey Guys!
It’s good to be back here after taking a week off. Our Spring Break trip to Beaver Creek, Colorado was GREAT and just what our family needed. I’ve got a big ole recap coming at you today and the final part on Wednesday. So get comfy cozy and settled in, friends. 🙂
This was me all comfy cozy and READY for the ten hour road trip on Friday. 🙂
My friend, Amanda, recommended this book, Big Sexy Love, a while back and I finally got around to reading it. A cute chick-lit book that really helped the drive FLY by!
We stopped at Bruno’s in Raton, New Mexico, for dinner and YUM!
The pizza, the mozzarella sticks, the salad…it was all good!
As we were walking into the restaurant a DEER was strolling down the street! My kids were in shock!
The gang’s all here!
Bowen, you had ONE JOB!
We spent the night in Pueblo, Colorado, and then tackled the rest of the 4-ish hours on Saturday morning. On repeat, my Amazon sweater!
These kiddos were READY for the mountains!
At one point this was us…NOT MOVING!
But have no fear-we had a potty chair in the car along with snacks.
My glasses are old but this is the brand.
And just a few hours later…WE MADE IT!
We stayed at The Beaver Creek Lodge Autograph Collection and the room was perfect!
The couch pulled out into a bed and then we had a roll away as well.
A king in the bedroom…during the day we put the roll away up and out of the way so we had more space in the living area.
The view from our room.
My favorite traveling partner.
We dropped our bags and were ready to hit the town.

And then big brother took the opportunity to pelt little brother with a snowball. And please note-Bowen is wearing his Natives in the snow.
This girl is growing up right before my eyes.
My hot tub look…you guys know how I feel about an indoor pool area but I took one for the team.
Someone was channeling her mama’s look.
Britty’s suit is from Gymboree and is now under $9! I’m telling you-stock up on suits, Mamas!
And then look who arrived-MY PARENTS! We invited them to join us on this Spring Break trip and were so happy they could come. They stayed in Avon so we met them at their hotel and then grabbed dinner together {Bob’s Place}.
On Sunday morning, we were up and at ’em EARLY ready to hit the slopes!
They were so excited!
We used a babysitting agency for Britt two days so I could ski with everyone while we were there. I’ve gotta be honest-I was a little nervous about this, but I was really happy with the service. We had two different sitters and both were great, they sent me pictures and texts throughout the day, and seemed to be really good with her. I had packed some toys knowing she’d be with a sitter so they played in the room, walked around outside, and even played on a little playground.
Our first sitter forgot to “spring forward” so she was running late. The rest of the crew went ahead and I met up with them.
It’s official…I’m the slowest skier in my family! This girly took no time remembering her ski skills.
And Bowen wasn’t far behind.
The views were stunning!
See what I mean? STUNNING!
After lunch, these two and I skied together a bit longer before we all went back to relieve the babysitter and get Britty.
There was a playground at the bottom of the gondolas near where we stayed so the kiddos and I bundled up and went over to play while Tab and Nixon finished for the day. Also, my parents went to ski school and we wanted to get a peek at their new skills.
These Texas kiddos were stoked about all the snow!
This girly was LOVING IT!
These two found a hole someone had dug and made it their new home.
Nixon and Tab popped in to see us for a bit before they did one last run down the mountain.
Meanwhile Bowen, Britt, and Ebby Lee built a snowman.
Then we all went in to warm up…Nixon was tired.
On the walk to dinner {Dusty Boots}, we discovered Beaver Creek Village had festivities happening during the month for Spring Break…on this night they were passing out sparklers for the kiddos.
Thanks to Madeley, this girl’s snow boot game was on point.
This kid is always down to make people laugh.
Such a successful day of skiing day one!
And we ended the day with tired legs but lots of great memories!
That wraps up Part 1 of our Beaver Creek Trip! Don’t forget blogger friends-tomorrow is Tuesday Talk! Join Fancy Ashley and I for a little chit chat! See you then, friends!
Thanks for reading today! I’m so glad to be back!
XO

So excited to see you were in Colorado! We are heading to there this Friday to ski for our Spring Break trip. First timer skiiing in the real mountains and not just the hills of the Midwest. My in laws have a place in Eagle Vail, which is right next to Avon. And we are planning on skiing at Beaver Creek next Monday and Wednesday. I need to finish reading the post, but I was just so excited I had to comment! I’m a mom of 3 boys (8, 6, & 4, but my littlest is not skiing) Any tips would be appreciated!!!
Looks like such a great time! And your hot tub look was on point.
Bowen cracks me up on the picture of him sitting next to the statue!
