Backyard Fun

Hey Friends! I’m reporting live from sunny Florida! I hope you’re having a great week! We rolled into Rosemary Beach on Friday spending three great days in that adorable little town. Tab’s cousin and his family that we ALWAYS bump into while we’re on vacation, seriously, the number of times we’ve seen them at a resort, Disney World, you name it…is CRAZY! They happened to be here too so we got to hang with them for a bit. We attempted to move over to our spot in Panama City Beach and we had to pull an audible. Let me just say that it felt like we’d gotten catfished. The pictures and reality were WAY different, over half the elevators didn’t work, {did I mention we were staying on the 14th floor?}, and the list pretty much goes on. So after a day of being in not-such-great-vacation-moods, we pivoted big time and booked a super last minute house with friends. Today we’re repacking, crossing our fingers we find elevators quickly and are moving over to a house. The baseball tournament officially starts tomorrow so we’ll be all good and settled by then.

That’s just a little life update on the Slaughters 🙂

Today, I’ve got a fun little round up of some great ways to beat the heat and enjoy some backyard fun {or possibly even fun on the beach-we packed some of these goodies and they’ve come in handy}.

  1. Waterslide-This is the perfect way to stay cool all summer long if you don’t have a pool. And who am I kidding? A slip-in-slide makes every backyard more fun!
  2.  11 piece lawn & pool toy set-This little kit is full of ways for kids to beat the heat from baseball stuff to balls to slingshots.
  3.  Melon madness pool ball-Have you tried this for the pool? We got our first one during COVID and it’s a great addition to a pool. I can’t even explain it but you fill it with water making it pretty heavy but able to be thrown underwater. Just a fun pool activity if you’re looking for something new!
  4. Unicorn donut float-You can never have too many unicorn floats.
  5. Treasure chest diving kit-My kids have used this in the pools so far this week, a little spin on the diving sticks I used to collect when I was little.
  6.  Lounge float-Once again, you can never have too many.
  7.  Beach ball-Beach balls are some of our favorites for the pool.
  8.  Ball & bat set-If you have baseball players in your house, then I’m sure you’ve played Blitz Ball. It’s similar to a wiffle ball/bat set but the Blitz Ball allows your throw to have more curve. {I think is how it’s been explained to me.}
  9. Cornhole set-A great way to spend an evening outside. If your family is like ours, competition sets in and then BAM-we’re all in!
  10. 3 person camping tent-Another great way to make the backyard a little more fun-especially if you have a Daddy/Kid sleepover. See what I did there? 🙂
  11. Solo firepit-Tab got one of these several years ago, but this is a small portable option.

    Oh no! So sorry your PCB place didn’t work out. It seems as if something always goes awry when we go on a trip to the beach. Good luck and sending positive thoughts on moving into the house today! 🙂

      No big deal in the grand scheme of things, but I try to keep it real on here! Sometimes things aren’t what they seem. We learned it the hard way this week! ha!
