All About Hair Q and A-Part Two

It’s TUESDAY, which means I’m linking up with Fancy Ashley to bring you Tuesday Talk.  Bloggers, I hope you join us!  The third Tuesday of every month, we team up to chit chat about anything and everything.
I wanna talk to you ALL ABOUT HAIR!

I asked for any hair questions over on my Insta Stories and got a whole slew of questions.  I answered several in this post and am rounding out any others in this one.  🙂
First of all, THANK YOU!!  I’d say for me in order to get volume I have to wear a pretty high ponytail.  If I put my ponytail in the middle of my head, there’s no volume whatsoever or there might be volume for a minute but it’s gone very quickly.  In order to have volume, make it a high pony!  I have to add bobby pins in the back for those short hairs or they’d never stay.  And if you need to, tease that top-just a tad.  😉

I typically go to my hair stylist every six weeks.  My hair was blonde when I was little, but it just keeps getting darker the older I get.  I started with just a few highlights in high school and well-we might find out soon what my natural color is now.
For hair like mine, that isn’t gonna dry pretty on it’s own.  {Mine won’t be curly or straight, it’ll be something wonky in between.}
*I put some kind of leave-in conditioning product on it as it’s air drying.
*If you have any parts that will dry funny, then I’d pin those.  I have a teeny tiny baby hair that will dry weird so if I’m air drying I’m pin it over.
*And then I let mine get 75% of the way dry {if I have all the time in the world} and then finish it with my blow dryer.
I asked her directly.  “I use a Logic’s 7N Gloss with Clear Redken EQ Shades”.   She was basically speaking another language for a minute.
I tend to plan my hair washes around my life, but typically every 3-4 days depending on what’s going on.
I do highlights and it’s typically a partial/full highlight almost every other time I visit my hair stylist.

My stylist calls my cut a long bob with a sprinkle of textured layers in the top.  My goal is to eventually have it with long layers(more at the bottom), but as that’s happening the top of my hair will get crazy thick feeling.  I’ll ask for layers and then the whole cycle will start over.

In order to extend between washes, I often times will blow dry my hair a bit to freshen it up.  I think it’s what I’ve found that works the best.  I also will use dry shampoo, but blow drying tends to work even better.

Figure out what works for your hair.  Everyone’s hair works differently.  I have friends who have to wash their hair every day in order for it to look it’s best.  Others wash their hair at night, tweak it a little in the morning, and then are good to go.  I fall somewhere in between and will add my hair washes on days when I have a little more time.  Can you wash your hair before bed, sleep on it, and then finish in the morning?  Have you tried that?

Moroccanoil is my BFF.  I don’t use it every time I style my hair but if I have fly-aways, it will cure them!  Or at least smooth them down.
Great Question!  I have an arsenal of hair products here at home but when I travel, I always pack Moroccanoil as well as shampoo and conditioner.  The Moroccanoil can be used on wet hair as well as dry hair so it can do so much.  I’d choose that if I could only choose one!

I’m currently using Hot Toddy, but Shay recommended this Biolage Thermal Spray that I’ve already ordered to try next.

Let it air dry as long as possible and then the actual drying takes way less time.  I also realize sometimes you just don’t have that much time.  I have washed mine right before bed, put it in a bun overnight, and then blow dry in the morning {mine is usually still pretty wet}.
I’ve never used any root touch-up products, but I might have a long list of recommendations coming out of this quarantine.  🙂

Hahahahahahaha!  This made question made me laugh!  I’d like to say that’s a myth, BUT Texas Erika has much more volume than Missouri Erika did, that’s for sure.

Nothing.  Absolutely nothing.  I feel like we’re all in the same boat so I’m not stressing at all about the state of my hair.  As soon as salons are open again, I’ll head back in but for now, I have dark roots.  Since I’ve never tried any of those root touch-up products I don’t want to attempt something and really mess things up.  I’d rather just wait.

I LOVE a good hair mask!  I use {and so does my stylist} the Olaplex Hair Perfector and this Regenerating Mask {works well but is crazy expensive}.  I’ve tried many others but those seem to be the two that work best for my hair.

Using a leave-in conditioner of some sort after I wash/condition seems to really help.  And then I notice a huge difference when I use my Revlon dryer over my Dyson.  The Dyson leaves my hair much more frizzy.  I know everyone’s hair is different, but that’s what works better for me.

Leave-in products I’ve used…

The only time my hair is usually sweaty is after a work out so I either blow dry it a tad to freshen or just wash it.  If I’m gonna be outside for a while in the summer, then odds are I’m styling it in a ponytail.  🙂

Okay, that wraps it up for today!  Hope you guys enjoyed our Tuesday Talk!  Don’t forget to link-up!

I recently ordered the Biolage Thermal Spray from Amazon and am sending it back. It made my hair feel like straw and I had no sheen to it. I tried it twice – the first time spraying it on my hair, the second time spraying in my palm and apply to my hair. I have much better luck with Lanza Healing Strength Serum. It's pricey but I only use a smidge, and I mean really only a smidge, and it works. I have a sheen and movement in my hair.

Love hair posts. I saw a meme that says in 8 weeks 88% of blondes will disappear from earth!!! True fact I think as most of haven't seen our true hair color in decades!

I jut got this product in a Target Beauty box and now my daughter and I swear by it. It reduces flyaways, makes our hair feel so soft and it smells great. Maybe try in your lineup and its cheaper on Amazon right now with coupon. Its called The Good Stuff Deep Conditioner for Damaged Hair Repair Balm. Check it out!

I was always curious how your kids are so blonde if your hair is naturally dark.

I've always loved your hair! I remember when we were working at the preschool and always thinking "How does her hair always look so good?!". You always had the perfect southern "pouf" or bump with your ponytails. I could never achieve that. haha That Inspired Chick
