10 Things About Me…

I was blog browsing the other day and came across a post where a blogger highlighted ten things about herself.  Some were serious, some were funny, and some were super random.  I thought it’d be the perfect time to share a little about myself.  Maybe you’re new and will learn something or maybe you already know all these things, but you get to hear them again.  ha!

10 Things About Me…
 #1 I am a family girl!
I am the wife to Tab and mama to Ebby Lee (6), Nixon (5), and Bowen (2).  These people are my life!

#2  I’m a third-grade teacher turned stay-at-home-mom.
I went from a class of twenty-four crazies to taking care of these three wild ones.  I love my job and wouldn’t trade it for a thing.

#3  I’m a mama covered by His grace and SO thankful for that!
Just like all mamas I struggle with being “enough”.  Am I teaching them ENOUGH?  Am I talking about Jesus ENOUGH?  Am I showing them ENOUGH grace?  Am I being tough ENOUGH?  And on and on, right?  In this stage of my life, I’m striving to be thankful for what I bring to the table and I’m doing my best to let all those “enoughs” go.

#4  I’m a lucky girl to do life with this guy.
Tab and I met back at Arkansas State University, where we both attended college.  We celebrate ten years of marriage later this month.  He’s an amazing hubby, awesome dad, and the perfect guy to be sharing this crazy life with.  Thankful for this man!

#5 I’m a reality tv junkie.
Seriously-if there were more hours in the day, I could fill them watching more reality tv.  haha!  I currently watch the Real Housewives, the Bachelorette, and Big Brother.
A few sidenotes:
-I haven’t watched to hear Vicki’s devastating news.
-I am so anxious to hear how these overnight dates go.
-I’m anxiously awaiting the Power of Veto challenge tonight!

#6  We just moved into a new (to us) house.
The house was built in 1998 and has been somewhat updated.  We have lots of “to-do’s” on our list.  This week we’re staying with family because all the hardwoods downstairs are being sanded and stained, so we were kicked out of the new crib.  Look for lots of before/afters to come soon!
I can’t wait to see the new floors and finish unpacking all that craziness!!

#7  I am a girl’s girl all the way!
I have the best girlfriends.  I started making a collage to show as many friends as I could, but I got overwhelmed.  So-please know-I have many friends who aren’t pictured.  🙂  I’m so thankful for these girls.  No matter if it’s dinner, a tee-ball game, or an afternoon chat-we have the best time!

#8  I think I’m addicted.
I started drinking coffee two years ago.  When we’d get home from swimming in the afternoon, I began making a cup of coffee and enjoying it during the kiddos’ quiet time.  The tradition is still alive and kicking!  I must say my favorite combo is probably 60% coffee, 40% creamer.  🙂

#9  I’m a Rodan + Fields’ consultant.
A little over a year ago, I took a leap of faith and became a Rodan + Fields’ consultant.  I’m so thankful my girlfriend talked me into giving it a try.  I absolutely love this part-time job that I get to do while my kiddos are playing in the next room or bright and early before they even wake up.  I know so many consultants who have started their business for a variety of different reasons-to pay off debt, to stay-at-home, to make a shoe budget for themselves-whatever the case maybe.  Shoot me an e-mail at alittlebitofeverything83@yahoo.com if you want to learn more.

#10  I love some online shopping.
I saw this quote online and could totally relate.  Can you?  I went to the mall with my kiddos yesterday in hopes of doing a little shopping and whew!  Let me just say that I came home, threw things in my “online cart”, and enjoyed that even more.
Happy Wednesday, Friends!!  XOXO

Sheaffer! That's TOTALLY awesome! I started drinking coffee the same way as Erika – trying to get through the afternoon slump. I literally used to plug my nose to swallow the coffee! Haha! Sadly now I'm addicted

You are all of those things (and a million more wonderful things too!). I feel slightly responsible and very excited about your coffee intake. I'm also quite pleased that you've brought your percentages down a little…two years ago, it was 90% creamer and 10% coffee :). Love you friend!

I live in Boston where there is a Dunkin Donuts on every corner so I have been drinking coffee since I was 13! Isn't that nuts? Now looking back and having a 14 years old I'm like oh my goodness! What a fun post!

I love this post! So fun! I can totally relate to that quote on #10! Haha! I can relate to that Lysa T. quote even more. I've been thinking lately about all the things I'm done feeling even an ounce of guilty for (like putting a TV show on so I can shower). Also, afternoon coffee?! Yes!! I function so much better for the 2nd half of the day if I have a little coffee at nap time! 🙂 Thanks for sharing all of these!

This was a fun post! I love learning fun little things about people. Your ratio of coffee to creamer made me laugh. I always say I like a little coffee with my creamer and even have a sign in my kitchen that says "I will take a splash of coffee with my creamer please!" it is more of a dessert than anything.. haha!

Loved this post Erika! I, like Sheaffer, have never had a cup of coffee in my life (over 50). Something about the smell makes my stomach turn. About being Enough – I think this is a battle/debate that a lot of women go through, no matter what the stage of life.

Curious…how long did you teach and do you think that you will go back to it eventually? I love teaching and worry that if I quit, I won't ever return.
