What we’re eating this week:
Monday: These Steak and Wedge Burgers were on the menu. You know my favorite thing about making burgers for dinner? Not one person complains! All my people love a burger!
Tuesday: Crockpot Enchilada Tacos…one word…EASY!!! My favorite dinners to make are all easy!
Wednesday: Chicken Chipotle Fettuccine is up tonight!
Thursday: LEFTOVER NIGHT!!!
Friday: We’re going OUT!
What I’m Reminiscing About:
My mama heart is still reminiscing about this day. The day we got our girl. As you can see, we’ve come a LONG way! Britt’s a super happy baby. She loves her family. She’s a great eater and sleeper (except naps..she’s not a fan…who needs to nap. ha!). Everyday we notice something she can now do and all five of us get excited about it. To see our past Bringing Home Britt posts…
What I’m Loving:
All the summer fun we’ve been having. This was a big trip to the grocery store complete with kiddos pushing kid carts and me forgetting my list. Remember me telling you about that Super Mom moment I had at Costco? Well, this trip would be the opposite of that. hahaha! As crazy as the grocery store run was…I LOVE having these people home with me.
Even though Britt’s face doesn’t show it, we’ve been loving hanging out with friends. The Shulls came over for a cookout/swimming last weekend. Again despite her look, Britt had fun and so did the other five. 🙂
What We’ve Been Up To:
Summer sports…this is the first year my big kids have played a summer sport. We’ve been having practices and games throughout the week. I’m a bit tired from the shuffling, but Nixon is having a blast. He can’t get enough sports so it’s perfect for him. The verdict on Ebby Lee and her summer sport is still out. 😉
And Miss Britt has been so stylish in all her new clothes.
On Saturday it was rainy and just a bit yucky in the morning. Tab suggested we take a little drive outside of town. He remembered someone mentioning this great catfish place. That’s just what we did. We took about an hour drive outside of town and found Stacy’s Catfish. (Growing up, I worked at a catfish restaurant on the lake so this place brought back so many memories!).
Britt refused the fried catfish so she enjoyed a squeezie pouch of spinach, peas, and pears. Sound delicious?
And because we couldn’t get enough of the selfies while everyone finished their food.
Fried catfish, fried shrimp, fried okra, french fries…do you see the theme? Definitely wasn’t the healthiest of meals, but it was so tasty! A little country dinner was just what we needed.
What I’m Dreading:
This is me. All day. Every day.
What I’m Working On:
Shay and I have been busy bees working at Mix and Match Travel. We’ve been busy planning trips for lots of you. (Cruises, Mexico, Disney World) The 2018 pricing for Walt Disney World just released so if you’re thinking of planning a trip in 2018, now is the time to reach out. Please e-mail us at mixandmatchtravelagency@yahoo.com. We’d love to help plan a magical trip for your family.
What I’m Excited About:
All the Fourth of July festivities!
What I’m watching/reading:
This is me when I think about what comes on television TONIGHT!!!
WAHOO!!!
You guys know I’m a big fan of Big Brother. Tonight is the premier and I can’t WAIT to watch!
When it comes to reading, I’ve been such a slacker. I never know when I’ll have enough time to finish a book so I’m just not even starting. My list of books to read is GROWING so I need to get on this. Maybe tomorrow? Big Brother is on tonight! 😉
What I’m Listening To:
We’re listening to all kinds of music. If we’re out back at the pool, then you better believe we have the speakers and music turned up!
What I’m Wearing:
I have three summer looks….
Look #1 Swimsuit and Coverup
Look #2 Workout Clothes
Look #3 Church Wear (My dress is here 40% off.)
That’s pretty much what I’m sporting all summer long. Sometimes I combine two of the looks…like Monday evening at Ebby Lee’s game I looked like I’d just climbed out of the pool but I was wearing workout clothes. haha! That’s what summer’s all about. Right?
What I’m Doing This Weekend:
Lots of this, but imagine four kids jumping and splashing around in the water too.
What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month:
We have some fun summer things planned but lots more lazy summer days and nights. 🙂
See you on Friday for more Friday Favorites!
Britt is too cute.

I'm pumped about Big Brother tonight too!! We just finished watching Big Brother Over the Top earlier this week (a little behind the game on that one). Big Brother is one of the few shows my hubby and I can both get into. So excited it's back!
aaah I didn't know you watch Big Brother! I can't wait to watch the premiere tonight either!! I also just read all of your "Bringing Home Britt" posts and I'm so happy and proud of your whole family. What a beautiful experience. My heart is so full for you and I love the reminder that even if your heart isn't called to adopt, to be the hands and feet for others who are. Absolutely beautiful reminder.
Looking forward to reading your thoughts on this season's BB (#butfirst can't wait to see what Julie is wearing) <3

I knew we were soul sisters. HA… sensitive noses and BIG BROTHER FANS!!!! whoop whoop!! I CANNOT WAIT TIL TONIGHT.. I've never missed a season!!! who remembers their list??? I forget it pretty much every single time or I remember it and somehow forget several items! HA
I am also so excited for Big Brother tonight. My favorite summer show! Britt is too cute!
I'm literally counting down the minutes to BB tonight. It's like my Christmas! So glad you are a big fan too so we'll be able to discuss at games. Craig never gets super into so he's not as much fun to talk to about it! He doesn't understand what he's missing. 😉
That Inspired Chick
SOOOOO excited about Big Brother tonight!
Aww, love the pictures of you and the family! And I gotta agree about doing all the laundry. Why does my family keep wearing clothes?
Has Ebby Lee considered gymnastics? Expensive, yes, but you can't ignore the whole air conditioning and picking out cute leotards factor 😉 Plus, the earlier she starts, the better!
Talk about big brother fan, does anyone remember the very first episode? Funny enough- Jamie was on it and I swear by her makeup products now. The "It" products from ulta are hers. 💄💋That new face moisturizer and eye cream are AMAZING as well as her compact foundation moisturizer (new). Blast from the past right! Lol. Happy watching tonight BB fans! Congrats on your newest cutie too- such a blessing! She's beautiful!
Big Brotherrrrrrr! So pumped. My family and extended family put $10 in and pick players. After the first episode we have the draft picks based on our randomly picked ordered. We have $ prizes for the winner, runner up and americas player.
Since I read Shays blog, I'm interested in what recipes (not Shays) that you make and your kids enjoy. I'm always looking for new ideas to mix things up, nut kids are picky so…. any ideas you could share would be great!
I love trying new (quick and easy) recipes but don't have tons of time to search and search the internet for some new options. Shay's blog is my go to. I also throw in some random favorite faves as well. My kids like fish…I' do salmon with veggies which is a little boring to me but kiddos are all fans. Chicken and rice, regular old tacos, and spaghetti are all staple recipes as well. 🙂
LOL on the combining two looks – that's me every.single.day I swear and sometimes I looked like I climbed out of bed so that combined look too! Britt is DARLING – I can't even stand it. I hear you on the book thing. I have started the same book over and over this month because I keep forgetting what happens. HA! Happy 4th of July! xoxo ERIN
Try Huck's Catfish next time. About 45 minutes North on 75 in Denison – good catfish, like we grew up with.
