Happy Tuesday, Everyone!
It’s been a while since I’ve been here on a Tuesday, but I’m so happy to be here. Fancy Ashley and I host this link-up once a month where we chat about ANYTHING and EVERYTHING! We’d love for you to join us!
To recap a bit this year, I’ve shared things that drive me crazy, swimsuits (EEK-it’s here!), vacations, and spring/summer dresses.
Today, I want us to chat about workout clothes and your favorite at-home workouts. I know every adoption story is different, but for us we’re still working on building that attachment and bonding. Which means we aren’t leaving Britt with anyone else just yet. I usually go to the gym two to three days a week, but that just hasn’t been in the cards lately. Tab will (hopefully) be able to stay at home with her a couple mornings so I can make it back to the gym but that’s been tricky since he was out for China and then last week on a business trip. I shared that little back story to say that I NEED SOME AT HOME WORKOUT HELP! 🙂
First up, let’s chat clothes….when Nordstrom asked me to chat workout gear I jumped at the chance. I’m sure I sound a bit like a broken record, but with free shipping and free returns Nordstrom makes my life so much easier! And there’s just something about some cute workout clothes that makes you push a little harder. Don’t you think? I thought I’d share a couple outfits that are super similar to what I’d wear on any given day (whether I’m headed to the gym or not…ha!). #amitheonlyone
I paired this Zella tank with the Zella high waist crop leggings (the black is sold out but this is another high waist black option with super cute detailing) and it was a match made in heaven. 🙂 I’m also a big fan of the Zella low profile socks. They have this small piece of rubber that fits around your heel to keep your sock from riding up or slipping off. I’m sporting the socks only because I wanted you to see them. ha!
My favorite thing about this tank is it’s reversible! Not to mention the high neck line is also my jam! I forgot to mention my sports bra is old and long gone, but this racerback option, this mesh option, and this lace back option all caught my eye when I searched for you.
The second outfit is just as cute and functional during a workout or a grocery store run. 😉 This top paired with these shorts (my favorite waistband) and of course-the socks!
Post workout-I go one of two ways…I shower and get really ready for the day OR I stay in my workout clothes, throw on a cardigan, and shower right before bed. In the latter case, THIS cardigan would be perfect. I’m all about some comfy clothes when I’m working around this house and this one doesn’t disappoint.
Sorry for the blurry pic! But the cardigan has a cute back. It’ll be something I throw on heading to the gym as well.
And when we’re talking at-home workouts sometimes I just throw on a hat before a walk/run in case I see anybody and I’m sporting day old pool hair! I’m a big fan of this hat! It’s sold out right now, but I’ll be watching to see if it gets restocked. If so, I’ll let you know.
This is how my real life is looking these days. hahaha!
************************************************
Now that we’ve chatted a bit about the clothes…let’s talk workouts! First, I should add I’m not a professional in the workout department. I don’t worry much about the scale, but I do want to be healthy. I think it’s important for my kiddos to see Tab and I taking care of our bodies. When it comes to workouts, I prefer to change my workouts up or I get too bored. I also like to keep at home workouts around thirty minutes or less. (I know. I know. They should be longer but that’s just the truth. If it takes over thirty minutes, I start thinking about all the things I should be doing instead of working out.)
I downloaded this on Amazon Prime and grab this workout very often. It has four different workouts ranging from beginner to more advanced. The plan is to do week one (beginner) workout for one week and then advance to week two and so on. But…who wants to do the same workout for an entire week? I need a little variety so I tend to start with week one and then move on consecutively.
Shay shared this online instructor, Cassey over at Blogilates. She has a wide variety of workouts on YouTube. I’ve done several and have enjoyed them all.
This weekly workout from Bitty Birdie Designs had my backside burning! I put on my favorite reality show and worked out as I watched. The time flew by!
I also have been getting outside. For me alone time right now is few and far between, but I can snag a few minutes of quiet outside while I walk or run. Not only am I moving, but I’m helping my mental state as well. haha!
I would LOVE to hear any and all at home workouts you recommend. Do you do videos? Do you have a favorite online workout? Some workout you pinned? PLEASE SHARE! Our swimsuit bodies will thank you! 🙂
Don’t forget to check out Fancy Ashley’s blog to see what she’s talking about on this Tuesday.
And a big THANK YOU to Nordstrom for partnering today.
See you tomorrow! XO
Fitness blender! You can search for workouts based on what you feel like doing and things under 30 minutes. They are my favorite workouts!!
Those blue shorts are darling! And, I love those leggings! I'll definitely be checking back for some home workout ideas…I always need some help in this area! 😉
Beachbody On Demand has been a game changer for me! I didn't have time to go to the gym after my son was born, so I signed up. I can honestly say I am in the best shape of my life!
I got a subscription to Beach body on Demand (I believe there are options to do 6 months-1 year subscriptions) and there are over 500 workouts so I'm constantly changing it up! My favorite trainers are Autumn Calabrese and Shaun T-both their workouts are 30 minutes or less. There are lots of different trainers and so many workouts so lots of variety 🙂
Shaun T is amazing!
I've missed seeing you at the gym!! That's all I have to say about that ;).
Those shorts are soooo cute! I actually ordered them late last week and was hopeful I'd love them. If they look 1/2 as cute on me as they do on you, I'll be good! I also ordered a blush pink pair they had, but they have pockets on them and I don't think they are going to be as flattering. Lots of great tips! My at home work out consists of going to my neighbors. If she doesn't do it, I don't do it. I have to have a partner!
fitnessblender.com has AMAZING at home workouts. You can customize by equipment, no equipment, target area, level of difficulty, etc. Plus, they're totally free. I highly recommend. I use them on my rest days between running training as a way to cross train and build strength.
I LOVE those shorts!!! Impressed that you do in home work outs. I lack motivation 🙂
Love those shorts. I love the wide waistband. Going to get them! Thanks. Also try fitness Marshall on YouTube. He is hilarious and you get to dance and act silly while doing it. I stick in his videos and do auto play and you would be surprised at how sweaty and hot you get.
I love the closed group on Facebook "FITing Your Balance". It only cost $15 a month. Teresa posts a workout everyday and will even post a short how to video so you know how to do each workout and modifications for each. Why I love this closed group is that each workout is no longer than 30 minutes but you definitely get your sweat on!! Each workout is different, and I do not have to search Pinterest for a different workout each day. I also love it because Teresa is a mom of two young girls and often her girls will pop in her videos and she will finish the workout with her girls or will redirect them so she can finish….very real life!!! We can all relate when working out from home!!
With my big kids home for summer I haven't been going to the gym as much because they don't like being there so I try to go once a week with them to my favorite class and then I am doing the Couch to 5k running app before my hubby leaves for work. Britt in that carrier is so cute and you look fabulous in everything! I love wearing workout gear all day long – case and point right now as I type ;). xoxo ERIN
Erin Opera has great workouts.. follow her on IG… (erinopera) I am sure you have heard of her…she does those city strong workouts with Shawn Booth and Kaitlyn Bristowe from the bachelorette.. she also does tabata (download the app) which is awesome if you don't have a lot of time – anyway go check her out when you have time..simple at home workouts but will kick your tail!
You can't go wrong with any of JM's workouts! Ripped in 30 is good but try her Body shred series. It is way better! Also for your rest/yoga days you MUST try Boho Beautiful on YouTube. She is amazing!!!
I have to workout at home- Every Tuesday I share a new workout that I enjoy doing from home in my Tuesday Training series because I'm the same way- I need to switch up my workouts so I don't get bored. You should definitely check it out! agalnamedal.com
You tube Denise Austin – I love that she has all kinds of stuff (depending on how committed I am to sweating a bunch…she has cardio, just strength, yoga, pilates, etc) and all different time ranges. I have no ability to work out longer than 30 minutes either…even 30 is pushing it sometimes. My attention span just isn't there.
What is the brand of the area rug in the living room? SO cute!!!
I do these workouts all the time…. I find them on Youtube. The first is PopSugar. I just type "Popsugar Workouts" in the search and lots come up. Most are about 30 min. My other favorites are Mommy Trainer, and they are about 30 min as well. Love these both because they have such a variety, are constantly moving from one thing to the next, and I don't get bored, which is easy for me to do when working out at home.
Hands down Fitness Blender is my favorite! Tons of free workouts and you can choose to use equipment or not, what body region to work etc.
Love your Tula!! We live in ours. I hope it's helping the bonding process for you two!!
I have to keep my workouts short and sweet too! I just don't have time for much more and I get super antsy after about 30 minutes and it's all a waste after that anyway because I've lost focus. I love Beachbody on Demand but I'm going to look into this Fitness Blender thing now too!
That Inspired Chick
I'm loving Leslie Sansone workouts right now! She has a TON of different programs and they're mostly 20-30 mins (which I also LOVE 😉 )
I love Jillian Michaels workouts, too! I also got a Simply Fit board that I love to keep my abs toned at home and it barely takes up any space. I also have a mini stair stepper that keeps my legs toned at home. that thing will KICK your butt and it was only $40 on Amazon. Plus it's finy so it tucks right away in a closet.
Beachbody on demand is the best! About $100 for an entire year subscription and there are so many workouts to choose from- most are 30 minutes or less. It has been the easiest way to stay consistent when I can't go to the gym!
benderfitness.com has hundreds of at home workouts. She is a Mom as well and most are around 30 minutes (which in my opinion is plenty of time to get in a great workout). Tons of variety you should totally try it!
Love me some Jillian!!! I also throw her 30 day shred into the mix!
MOMS INTO FITNESS! Workouts are geared towards moms – 30 minutes or less and super effective! You can stream online for about $15 a month. Love them!
Refitrev on YouTube has fun dance workouts!
I love Barre3 online.
The Kayla Itsines 12 week Bikini Body guide is great! And it only takes 28 minutes!
It's great that you're finding a way to fit in a workout at home! The first tanktop you shared is super cute.
P.S. Your dining room in the background looks great!
You look adorbs in all your cute workout gear!! Love the reversible tank!! I could never make it to the gym to workout bc I would be called out with in 10min due to one very attached little girl. In January a friend introduced me to beachbody. It's been life changing. Tons and tons of different at home workout programs!! Would love the chat with you!!!
You have to try BBG by Kayla Itsines. It is my go to workout at home. It doesn't take long to do, but kicks your behind hard! I woul say the only downside is you have to invest in some small equipment. For me I had most of it, but I could see it being a problem for some.
What a good blog you have here. Please update it more often. This topics is my interest. Thank you. . .

Great post full of useful tips! My site is fairly new and I am also having a hard time getting my readers to leave comments. Analytics shows they are coming to the site but I have a feeling “nobody wants to be first”.
