Another Show-And-Tell Tuesday is going down today. This is a good one! I’m linking up with Andrea to show you my high school self! EEK! The good, the bad, and the ugly…except let’s be real. I definitely chose the best pictures to show you. hahaha! Trust me. You don’t want me to be THAT real. 🙂
Last week I shared some pictures of my hometown. You can check it out here if you missed it.
I grew up in a REALLY small town. Think graduated with twelve people kind of small. This should be fun…oh, and because I’m crazy professional I’m took pictures of pictures. #idontknowhowtoworkascanner
In high school, these other two girls pictured were my closest friends. We were typical sixteen-year-old girls and super boy crazy. I must add that we weren’t crazy wild but innocent teenager crush kind of crazy. 🙂 In the picture above, we were at the BETA convention (kind of like National Honors Society) in Branson, Missouri, and every single one of us had a crush on the guy in the green shirt, who was from another school. I remember this like it was yesterday! haha!
Homecoming-my senior year…we were too small to have football so we celebrated Homecoming during a basketball game. Interesting fact…I was on Homecoming Court three out of my four years of high school and NEVER won! #imstillbitter #forrealstillbitter
Sophomore year school picture…right after this my mom FINALLY agreed to let me get a few highlights. Then she decided she could do it herself and my hair got WAY too blonde. You’ll see in just a second…
I couldn’t find a prom picture from our prom. My senior year, my friend, Carrie and I, went to a local school’s prom with some friends. Why did my parents let me wear a dress like that?? haha!!
My dear dear friend, Carlye. She was two years older than me in school, but we were super close. (I think this is another show-and-tell later but I’m spilling the beans.) Carlye and I cleaned a local Conservation Area office. It was my first job EVER!! So…every other weekend, you could find us driving the thirty minutes to clean offices, bathrooms, and even outdoor bathrooms. Ugh!
Our school had two sports…basketball for boys and volleyball for girls. Starting in fifth grade I played volleyball and absolutely loved it! My senior year we got 1st place in the Woodland Tournament! Notice…no All-Tourney Team medal around my neck. Don’t worry, later I made another All-Tourney Team and All-Conference. #imtrulynotbitteraboutthis haha!
A typical day at school….this was our main hallway.
This is almost my entire graduating class…we’re missing three people. I think this was after the Honor’s Banquet my senior year. Notice…the ends of my hair are extremely blonde. 🙂
Senior graduation with my friend, Amber, and some girls from another high school that we played on a club volleyball team with.
This one is crazy blurry, but I was also a cheerleader for the basketball team all four years of high school.
These two girls and I made lots of fun high school memories. We got the matching dresses on our senior trip.
Senior night for volleyball…and photo bombed by a random guy in the background. ha!
A senior picture…don’t ask me about the hair, but you can ask about that shirt. I remember LOVING that shirt!
Sophomore year of Homecoming…another dress, another updo, and no crown. haha! #whyismyhairsohigh
My junior year I started working at a restaurant that was about thirty-five minutes away, Fisherman’s Net. I worked there for over two years just Friday and Saturday nights as a waitress and pretty much loved every minute of it.
Trust me…if I would have been sharing this in person with you, I’d be red from my head to my toes and probably have hives on my neck!! SO embarrassing!! haha!!
Happy Tuesday, Girls!!
Love this! Iove getting a chance to see memories and high school days!
Next time you go visit home, I want to go with you. I want to pour through albums and boxes and see every single picture. It never gets old! So much fun!
I had the awkward blonde hair phase in high school too! Loved seeing your pictures. Thanks for sharing!
Like my favorite post ever. E-ver! I love the hair. The hair progression was my favorite part! (That and the striped turtleneck…) I also think you were totally wronged with the whole homecoming court thing…I'm sure you deserved the big win :). Love these pics friend! I also love the ones you showed me but didn't blog because they were too embarrassing :).
That striped turtleneck!!! Oh my goodness!! So colorful!! Loved this post, friend!! Tou had so much fun in high school!! 🙂
You were/are so cute!
That sophomore homecoming pic – I have one that looks almost identical! Tendrils were EVERYTHING! Hahaha! #pleaseletthatneverbeatrendagain
LOVED this post! I remember having a Gap striped turtleneck in the 00-01 era and thinking it was one of my favorite…wait for it…I had the denim jacket that had the matching turtleneck weave on the inside!! EEK! But I definitely loved it.
My favorite part of this post had to be all of the crop top formal dresses! You were rocking them!! I NEVER could have convinced my parents to wear one!!
I love looking at all these old photos! You were just as cute in high school as you are now!
I love these pics!!!! I still have the same senior pic of you, your grad pic and the guy photo bombing you is Ashley's dad, Steve!!!!! Loved playing volleyball with you guys! We had great times!
Ha! So fun – you made me laugh out loud with your commentary! The prom dress – you were ahead of your time, that is the newest style again for high schoolers!!
I'm cracking up!!! I just can't believe how small your school was!! I'm guessing college was a huge shock going from small school to large university!! 🙂
Oh my gosh! You look SO much like Jade Roper(?) from the Bachelor in some of your shots! Love seeing those old pictures of you!!
Omg my comment about you looking like Jade was meant to be a total compliment by the way!!!
soo fun!!.. we live in the same size town..lol
loving the striped turtle neck 😉…
This is so cute!!! You (minus the evolved hair) look just the same!!! Clearly the R and F is working haha!
This might be my favorite Show & Tell I've read yet! You were adorable in highschool! I'm loving your 2-peice prom dresses! I can confidently say my parents would've freaked out if I'd attempted to wear one similar! But you rocked it (: And don't feel bad- I totally rocked the flipped-out hair style in highschool, too! And people like to talk about growing up in a small town (I consider my home town small), but you take the cake! 12 people in your graduating class?! Crazy!
I loved this!!! I had the same striped turtleneck – haha! I loved it too. I don't think you've aged at all so that R&F is working.
I would have loved to be your friend in high school! so down to earth
Love it, especially the #imnotbitter, I remember loving certain outfits too, and now thinking, what the heck was I thinking?! It must have been cool way back when right?
I can't get over how small your class was!! I felt like mine was small at 400!! Haha!! Such a fun post!!
I love the rainbow sweater!!!
You were so cute!! You seem even more like someone I would've been friends with in high school too! Fun post!
I had that exact same striped turtle neck and I'm pretty sure I loved it just as much as you, lol!!! Now, I'm off to find a picture of myself wearing it……
So fun! You were so cute. I thought my high school was small. It looks like you made the most of your years
You're adorable and look like so much fun! We totally would've been friends in hs 🙂
Love this post!! Haha! So much fun!! I can't believe how small your class size was!!
You are so cute! I can't even imagine being from a school so small there was no football! You totally should be bitter…you are adorable and I'm sure deserved that darn crown…haha.
Oh…and I had to take pictures of my pictures too! haha
You were cute then and still are. What a fun post!
I'm from a small town in NW Missouri, and I graduated from high school with 48 kids in my class. I was crushed when I didn't get the nomination for Homecoming my junior year, then my boyfriend dumped me! It was so tragic! Haha!
Just curious: Where did you go on Senior trip? We went to Kirkwood Lodge at Lake of the Ozarks. Sounds exciting, doesn't it?!
Love seeing all the old pics of everyone! Yeh for small towns! While my school was a little bigger, I totally get the smallness. My school hallway looked very similar 🙂
