Show and Tell-PROM Pictures

Hey!  Hey!

I’m joining Andrea today for Show and Tell Tuesday.  This is going to be fun…we’re sharing PROM pictures!

I must tell you-I thought it was all fun and games until my mom texted me some pictures.  hahaha!  I could have sworn I looked WAY cuter than these pictures are portraying.  🙂  Big shout out to my mom for finding these!  Thank you, Mom!

I’ve shared this before but I’m from a small town.  I went to a teeny, tiny school so I’m sure we did some things differently than you guys who attended huge schools.  Our prom was for juniors and seniors.  Each of the juniors and seniors could bring a date, but their dates could be freshman-on up.  With that said, I went to prom all four years of high school  (a lot of girls did this) and I actually went to two proms at other schools as a date.  You should think of me as a small-town prom connoisseur.   hahaha!  Kidding.

Our proms were held in either the gym or the cafeteria.  Remember my town was about forty-five minutes away from anything?  Which made a pre-prom meal a little difficult.  The majority of the time we had a post-prom meal-which seems SO LATE to my “in-bed-by-9:30-self”.  ha!

A couple things I’d like to add before you view…

1. High school Erika knew nothing about best colors for her to wear.  Or maybe she knew and didn’t care?  For instance, light blue was not my friend, but I didn’t realize.

2.  I cannot stop laughing as I look at these pictures.

3.  Spray tans were not a thing then-unfortunately.  Yes, I did the dreaded tanning bed, but I would have had to start tanning in October for our prom in April in order for me to be the perfect golden bronze.  #youllseewhatimean

4. I promise in real-life or at least in the late 90’s and early 2000’s I looked WAY better.  haha!

My mom found random photos so some proms are missing but she found a couple from Homecomings so I’m including those.  This was Homecoming my freshman year.  Yes, sequin dress from head-to-toe and I’m pretty sure my pumps were dyed to match.  Yes.  Yes, they were.

Prom-my freshman year.  I have no words.

I’m pretty sure right after seeing this picture is when I began highlighting my hair.  And maybe someone over at Jergens saw this and that’s when they began working on self-tanners?

*My mom couldn’t find sophomore and junior pictures and clearly, those must have been my golden years.  haha!

Senior Homecoming-Important for you to know the top was a fuzzy, fur and I LOVED it!

Senior Prom-It looks like the genie called and he’s ready for me to hop back in the bottle.  Doesn’t it?

I had a date (pictured above) but this photographer had us take pictures together and apart.

As funny as these pictures are to look at, I really did have some great times and we made some awesome memories.

I hope you girls enjoyed that and are laughing along with me.

 Have a great day!  XO
