Our Thanksgiving Week

Last week our kids had the entire week off of school.  It was fabulous!
Our Tuesday started off like this.  The guys came to tear out our old fire place.  Hopefully, the new box gets put in this week and it’s all finished in a couple weeks.  That might be wishful thinking.  🙂

On Tuesday we drove out to East Texas to visit Tab’s mom and her family.  Both Tab’s brother and sister were there with their kids so we tried to recreate a picture we took a couple years ago.  There was so much chaos going on around us that I was doubled over laughing….the kids couldn’t stay up on the slide, siblings didn’t want to touch each other, the dogs were in the way, a neighbor kid was swinging right beside us….seriously, I couldn’t stop laughing.

This is Tab’s grandpa with his great-granchildren-Slaughter kids only.

This is hard to see, but Nixon was right in the middle of playing football with the big boys.  He thought he was something else.  He ran one in for a touchdown and I MIGHT have teared up.  hahaha!!  That’s what I get for laughing at my mom and aunt every time they’d tear about when I was a kid, right?

 The entire crew

On Wednesday, (my parents had arrived late the night before) we headed out to do a little last minute shopping before Thanksgiving.  E and I were in the spirit already with our KenLee Cait reindeer tunics.  (Remember ERIKA10 at checkout to get 10% off).

On Thanksgiving Day, we enjoyed a yummy lunch with family.
My parents and M joined us (but I can’t find a picture of M anywhere!).
After our Thanksgiving lunch, we took a little stroll around the neighborhood.  And then I napped.  🙂

Later that night, I text messaged Shay to see if they’d made it home.  She responded back that they were about two hours away, but she was drinking coffee, eating cookies, and watching Elf.  I just happened to be wearing my Elf pajamas so I sent back this picture.  ha!  Ebby Lee happened to be in hair dressing mode ALL weekend long.  Every chance she got she wanted to fix someone’s hair.

We spent our Saturday pretty much like this.  It was cold outside and we decided the best way to spend our day was catch up on a lot of Christmas movies!  So that’s just what we did.  🙂
We celebrated Bowen turning 3 in there as well, but I’m saving that for a post all it’s own.  He has to share so much.  He deserves a BIG ‘ol post summing up his birthday celebrations, right?  🙂
