Oktoberfest 2018

This past weekend was OKTOBERFEST here in McKinney.

Some things you might not know about me…

*I LOVE a fair, carnival, or festival.

*I LOVE pretty much everything about it-the lights, the food, the music, the people.

*I’m sure there’s some funny meme about not riding something that’s put together in a day, BUT I also LOVE a carnival ride.  🙂

Needless to say, Oktoberfest is my kind of place.
We had a morning full of sports and hit up Oktoberfest around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.  Just in case you can’t tell, we were all five pretty excited about it.

First up, we hit up a game of washers.

This cutie and I watched.

RIDE TIME-Can you spot the two bigs?

Britty was so excited about watching them go around every time.  She has my reflexes though and by the time they were past her, then she’d wave!  She even attempted a thumbs up a few times.  It was sweet!

Bowen wasn’t so sure about the big rides.  He chose to sit and watch.

Please note Ebby Lee’s face…this ride was her favorite.

And who doesn’t LOVE a fun house?

This was more Bowen’s speed.  hahahaha!

Britt was right on the cut off of being too short…one guy let her on and the other two rides refused.  So, this was her moment of excitement!  She was a fan until they started going up and down…then she was ready to get off.

We found a cute little spot serving German food and I let the kiddos have a real Coke.  They were so pumped.  Until Britt dumped approximately 3/4 of Nixon’s on our pants.  It was everywhere!

I’m a HUGE fan of sauerkraut!  YES!  Britt and I shared this and oh my goodness…it was delicious!

Then the big three spent some time in the petting zoo.

There was a big turtle in there that kept messing with the pigs and the pigs were NOT happy about it.  Clearly, my kids enjoyed the drama.

Ebby Lee is a fan of a llama.

The boys attempted this game…can you tell they weren’t successful?

Having SO MUCH FUN!

Then we hit that point in the night where we were doing what we could to get rid of ALL THE TICKETS!

This girly’s so sweet.

The big kiddos all took a shot at seeing how strong they were.  Ebby Lee would sling the sledgehammer and then laugh out loud before hoisting it up again.

Oh my goodness!  SO MUCH FUN!  Events like this are what make our big town feel much, much smaller than it really is.  And I absolutely love that.

Happy October 1st, Everyone!
