One of my favorite things about blogging is LINK-UPS! It’s such a great way for us to all share our thoughts on one idea or topic. Seriously, link-ups are my jam! And today Andrea and I have a great one for you! We’re chatting all about the moms in our life. 🙂
Let me introduce you to my fabulous mom, Tina…
First of all, she’s a TWIN! I don’t know if I’ve ever shared that before and I cannot find a picture of her and her twin sister together! She was the youngest of three girls and came from a great Christian family.
She taught kindergarten for almost 25 years. Yeah, I know. It might take it a minute for that to sink in. 🙂 She taught KINDERGARTEN for almost 25 years!! When I was growing up, she was a single mom for a few years and now that I’m a mom myself I don’t take that for granted. She sacrificed a lot and now my mama heart totally gets it! (Thank you, Mom!)
She was (and still is) a fabulous mom, but I think she’s an even more outstanding grandma. My three love her to pieces and I think the feelings are mutual. My kids (and brother’s kids) call her T-Nonnie. We were trying to come up with a fun grandma name before Ebby Lee was born and we read that name on the internet. We laughed and laughed and then it stuck! ha!
Some of my favorite memories with my mom are taking special shopping trips with the girls. St. Louis was about two hours away from us but it was the closest trip to a big mall. We spent many fun girls’ trips driving up to St. Louis talking all things girl and shopping! Think prom dresses, swimsuits, and Easter dresses galore!
If you’re up for a game of any kind, Tina is the girl you want on your team! 🙂 At all family gatherings, she’s up for game time!
And she just makes things more fun! She’s ready to slide down a bounce house slide, get pie’d in the face, or hula hoop all in the name of love.
AND…her birthday is tomorrow, so I’m wishing this sweet mama of mine a HAPPY BIRTHDAY a day early!
We’re so thankful you’re ours! We love you, T-Nonnie!!!
And today I’m in Deer Valley ski school! You can follow along at “slaughteren” on Instagram!
What a great tribute to your mom. She sounds like lots of fun, and I admire anyone who taught Kinder for such a long time!
Your mom sounds adorable! But let's talk about how you had to drive TWO HOURS to a mall?!? Oh, the irony of where you live now having like 5 malls within 20-30 minutes 🙂
I love Tina too! She is always so sweet and ALWAYS has such a positive attitude. I also love how much your kiddos ADORE her!
Your mama is so sweet! What a great post about her!! Love it!!
She sounds like a great lady! No doubt a big part of why you turned out to be such a gem of a person. I just love her grandma name too.
What a sweet post about your sweet mama! Happy Birthday T-Nonnie! And here's hoping that you DOMINATE the slopes! 😉
I'm still thinking about teaching kindergarten for 25 years….she must be an amazing woman! Enjoy your trip!!!
What a sweet post. Your mom looks like so much fun! Happy birthday Tina!
Your mom sounds great.

My mom is a twin too! Happy birthday to your mom! 🙂
Anyone that can teach kindergarten for 25 years is a saint! I can barely handle substitute teaching in Sunday School a few times a year! That is a tough age! Happy early birthday to your sweet mom!
So fun you are in Utah. There are so many good restaurants to try in Salt Lake City. If you have a free night and the time you must go to The Roof in downtown Salt Lake. Everything about it is amazing. Also, Café Rio is a must try.
I knew she was a saint when you said "25 years"! That takes a lot of LOVE! What a sweet post about your momma! Thanks for hosting such a fun link-up!
I love Deer Valley! Just got back from a spring break trip there 2 weeks ago. Where are staying? Happy birthday to your sweet mom!
What a nice post dedicated to your mom! Super sweet! By the way, where did you get that camo ball cap? Super cute!
