Let’s Talk…Entertainment!

Happy Monday!  Hope you all had a great weekend!  Today, Andrea and I are chit chatting about all things ENTERTAINMENT.

This post couldn’t have come at a better time.  First of all, I’m a reader.  I try to fit reading in anytime I’m waiting.  I pack my book for appointments, practices, etc. and if I have any down time I read.  I also read before bed-usually every night.  I have several books to share with you!

This is a very “Girl on the Train” type read.  Mia meets a guy out on the town, decides to go home with him, and then realizes he is actually kidnapping her.  It’s a bit of a kidnapping gone wrong suspense-thriller.  If you’re a fan of Girl on the Train, Gone Girl, etc…then I’d definitely recommend this one!  It’s not creepy, disturbing-which some of them tend to go in this genre.  I give it two thumbs up!

Have you guys read Sally Hepworth’s The Secrets of Midwives?  If not, you should!  It was so good!  When I heard she had another book out, I was pumped to read it.  Let me tell you…it didn’t disppoint!  In this book, Anna, who is only in her thirties, but whose mind is slowly slipping away.  She moves into an assisted living facility, meets some residents, and we discover love might be the one thing we remembers.  I’m telling you…it’s good!

My favorite Elin Hilderbrand book to date!  My sister-in-law kept telling me this was her fave and now I know why.  The ending just kept me guessing.  We meet two families who live on Nantucket.  Both are involved with some rumors and we learn how twisted and messed up rumors can leave you.  A great chick-lit read!

For all you thriller, creepy, mystery loving girls, this one is DISTURBING!  This story is all about a family who had one daughter go missing years ago.  Through an unexpected turn of events, we discover a serial killer and how he is linked to the family.  I don’t want to give too much away, in case you want to read.  But please know you have to be okay with some disturbing stuff to read this one.  Grandma, this is NOT for you.  ðŸ™‚

After reading something like Pretty Girls, this was the perfect book to pick up.  Light and easy for the win!  This Hilderbrand novel is set over the weekend of a family wedding.  We learn the ins and outs of one family, where everyone seems to be bringing a little drama.  I liked this one a lot!

Big Brother
Last week Big Brother finally chose a winner!  I always start out so strong with this show in the middle of summer when we have zero commitments, but by the beginning of September I’m ready for it to be over.  It’s hard to watch so many episodes during the week.  But…what’d you think of the winner?

**SPOILER ALERT**

Nicole was crowned the winner!  I might have been the only one, but I was a little SHOCKED!  I was expecting Paul to win with the vast majority of votes.  He seemed to be playing the game a lot harder, but what’s that saying about smarter not harder?  Maybe that was Nicole’s plan all along.  I really was surprised, but she was a good choice.  I like that she never had to get nasty mean (which some of them seem to revert to) in order to win.

I was happy that Victor one America’s favorite.  After coming back into the house twice, he totally deserved it!

This is Us
Did anyone else watch this premier last week?  I’d seen previews and was totally getting the Parenthood vibe so I set my DVR.  So far I’m a fan!  That surprise ending completely shocked me, but it was SO good.  Right?  If you were a Parenthood fan, then I’d say watch online and catch up.  This is gonna be a good one.
