Hey Hey!
It’s one of my FAVORITE days of the month over on the blog. It’s Let’s Look with Shay. Each month we cover a topic and our hope is we can all learn a little from each other.
I’m gonna go ahead and call myself a LIAR because the topic today is TYPICAL DAY and I’m covering my Sunday for you. I don’t feel like any summer Sunday is “typical”. I tried to take pictures of my day Tuesday-Friday last week and could NOT remember for the life of me…until around noon-it would hit me! So, needless to say you’re seeing my Sunday, which in the summer could be an entire day spent at the ball field, an afternoon spent pool side, or a big ole nap after church. I’m all over the place on a Sunday. 🙂
Hope you enjoy a little peek into my day!
5:00 a.m.
I’d been working for a while before I remembered to snap a picture. There are so many pros to working from home, but a con would be when the kiddos are home during the summer it can be hard to get solid work knocked out at times-hence my crazy early wake-up this Sunday to get a lot of work done. {I think I rolled out of bed at 4:00 a.m.}
6:30 a.m.
Cup of coffee #2
7:00 a.m.
I shut the work stuff down and got the slow cooker started with Shay’s Crock Pot Chicken Tacos.
7:20 a.m.
EEK! Bad lighting, but I showered and had a few minutes to read on my Kindle as I ate breakfast.
7:30 a.m.
Nixon joined me on the couch and I guess-Bowen too {photo credit}.
8:30 a.m.
Church ready! On this day, I went by Shay’s house to grab her early, then we headed to the van rental location to get our Road Trippin’ van prior to church.
My dress is Lilly Pulitzer from last year, jacket is Able, and wedges are old Ugg.
10:45 a.m.
My pew mates before church started. I want you to know we took a selfie and they both had crazy looks on their face so I told them I was posting that. They begged for another picture…this is pic #2…but Nixon kept his same face.
Meanwhile, my girlfriend, Lori, was playing with Miss Britt through the glass in the Children’s Building. Love how my friends love my kiddos!
1:30 p.m.
We got home, had a quick lunch, and then I laid down with Britty for a quick little nap.
2:00 p.m.
My nap was over but Britty’s was still going. 🙂 I worked, we packed, we picked up the house, and I forgot to snap one single picture of that.
5:00 p.m.
We headed to Gary’s {my father-in-law} birthday dinner at Uncle Julio’s.
6:30 p.m.
Chocolate pinata for the win!
Happy Birthday, G!
We had a great evening celebrating him!
8:30 p.m.
Back home everyone showered, made sure the packing was complete, folded laundry and did all the last minute things before bed. {Britt is doing great in the potty training department, but she still sleeps in pull-ups. Thought I’d get questions about those pull-ups in my suitcase.}
9:30 p.m.
I showered {clearly did take off my eye make-up} and got in bed for an early wake-up call on Monday morning! #roadtrip#2
Don’t forget to join us next month, when we talk BINGE SHOWS!!
In honor of our ROAD TRIP #2, I’m taking off tomorrow but will be back on Friday!
XO
What a great day! I love a day in the life post! 🙂
Did you have the crockpot chicken tacos for lunch this day since you had gone out for dinner or do you meal prep ahead? Thanks for sharing a fun day!
Yes! We had them right after church for lunch. 🙂
That's a great day in the life post… I often think with kids there is no such thing as a "typical" day anyway!
Love the day in the life posts! What a fun and relaxing Sunday!
