Proud to be an American!! The Slaughters had a fabulous weekend celebrating with friends and being thankful for our freedom!
We started the 4th off right with our town’s 4th of July parade.
Our town is big-well over 125,000 people, but when you attend things like the downtown parade it just feels like a much smaller city. Love that about our town!
I also love these ladies! We met up with friends, the Dreffs, the Shulls, and the McAnallys to catch the parade and have a donut-thanks to the McAnally’s. 🙂
The hubbies were half-being serious and half-making fun of us in this picture. haha!
I showed up “twinning” with this pretty girl. 🙂
Then the parade started!!
This crowd looks ready. Don’t you think?
This was Bowen’s favorite part-the FIRETRUCK!!
This girl was all waves-all morning long.
There’s not much better in two-year-old world than a parade with a firetruck, gorilla (yes, someone dressed up), AND a crazy horse. Last night before bed, I asked Bowen what he wanted to do the next day and he said, “I wanna go back to the parade”. Sorry, dude! #gottawaituntilchristmas
The perfect way to start our morning. We headed home to change into our swimsuits and then we were off to the pool. They had some delicious brisket tacos for lunch. Then we swam our little hearts out for hours.
Ebby Lee participated in the Hula Hoop contest. If they had given out a prize for third place, home girl would have won something. Two older girls outlasted her. There’s always next year and she’s already been practicing. ha!
Then all my wildest dreams came true and Bowen did this for two hours. A two-hour nap at the pool? I’ll take it!
Ebby Lee did tons of cannonballs off the diving board while Nixon bounced in the bounce house. (I took pictures but they all turned out crazy dark).
Then the King of the Cannonball showed Ebby Lee his skills. haha! Right after Tab went a boy in the pool shouted, “I feel like I’m in a wave pool”! haha!
Great times with this guy!
We got home and bathed the kids before we went to watch the fireworks. I put a kid show on while I was getting ready and I came in to find this. Bowen covered himself in baby lotion. He smelled DIVINE.
Then we all piled up in the car to meet friends again for the fireworks show. I had so much fun that I took ZERO pictures. The Slaughters had a fabulous Fourth! We hope you did too!
