Friday Favorites

Happy, Happy Friday, Friends!

I’m joining my girls, Narci and Andrea, to bring you some FRIDAY FAVORITES!  I hope you join us.  🙂

I have a random mix for you today so sit back and relax…

Book Reviews:

In a span of a week, I had two different people mention this book to me.  I especially love Max Lucado’s books around Christmastime so I was eager to read this one.  If you are someone who worries {even just a bit}, I’d highly recommend you reading this!

I LOVED this one by Sally Hepworth!  It’s suspenseful, is full of different plot twists, and the kind of book you don’t want to put down until you’re finished reading.  This book centers around new mom, Essie, and the neighbors on her street.  Essie is harboring some big secrets, but when a new neighbor moves into town and seems to become rather obsessed with Essie-well, you need to read the rest to discover what it’s all about.  I’m telling you-I was a HUGE fan!

You guys know I’m a fan of those psycho thrillers and this one fit the bill.  A girlfriend passed this one on to me months ago and I’ve been waiting to read it.  In this one, one wife in the family has to decide if she should risk everything for the life she loves or come clean with what she’s discovered.  The family dynamic in this one is CRAZY!  If you’re a fan of those thrillers, give this one a chance.

Another in the psycho thriller line-up, this book was good!  This one surrounds the disappearance of Sutton {the wife in the book} and throughout the story, I wasn’t sure if she ran away, was murdered, or possibly committed suicide.  I was on the edge of my seat though!  The entire time!

I’ve been reading my way through the Baxter Family Series by Karen Kingsbury.  This is book two and was SO GOOD!  After those books above, this is just what I needed.  These are Christian fiction books and the constant theme throughout them all is Jesus.

Vacation Recap:
I apologize, friends.  I CANNOT STOP TALKING ABOUT THE FUN WE HAD ON OUR DISNEY LAND AND SEA VACATION.  Shay and I have been recapping like crazy ladies.  🙂 You can see all the recaps {so far-just one more on next week}…

Disney World Footwear:
I took two pairs of shoes to Disney World and they both worked so well I had to share!  I wore this New Balance pair the first day {with socks} and then I wore this pair of Nikes {no socks} for the second two days.  A girlfriend recommended those Nikes just a few days before I left.  She had the white and they were SO cute, but I was afraid white at Disney might get crazy dirty so I opted for grey.  I didn’t know if one pair would rub blisters or just be uncomfortable…that’s why I packed two!  They were both so comfy and I ended the day with great feeling feet!  😉  Two new FAVORITES for my feet!

Disney World Shorts:
On Disney World Day Three, I wore THESE shorts.  I’d recommend your normal size or sizing up if you’re in between.  There must have been a picture on Shay’s blog because I have zero pics of myself where the shorts can be seen.  But several of you asked me about them.  I’m not sure about you but I’m in that weird-shorts are too short or shorts are too long stage of life.  One trick I’ve figured out is I buy my denim shorts in a size that allows me to pull them down low on my hips.  It gives me a little more leg coverage.  😉  THESE shorts fit the bill AND they’re a GREAT price!

Swimsuits:

WHERE’S YOUR FAVORITE PLACE TO BUY SWIMSUITS?

I bought a couple new ones for our trip, but I think I need a few more before summer.  We swim almost daily and last year I didn’t really buy any new ones.  I bought a few pieces and added them to the mix and match pile.  This year I’m on the hunt!  I’m hoping someone has a secret swimwear place to recommend I know nothing about.  🙂

Riced Cauliflower:
I know I’m arriving late to this party, but I’ve FINALLY made it and have been obsessed with riced cauliflower lately!  What’s your favorite way to eat this?  I could pretty much add anything and be a fan.  Earlier this week, I had one of these “chicken” patties {they’re vegetarian-I bake them in the oven and they’re super easy.} piled on some riced cauliflower with-WAIT for it-Frank’s Buffalo Sauce.  Yes, I know that sounds like a weird concoction, but it was so good.  We also had scallops piled atop some riced cauliflower this week for dinner one night.  I’m telling you-my new FAVORITE!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Hope you have the BEST weekend!
XO
