Happy Friday!
My weekend should be filled with lots of baseball games. I’m hoping the rain holds off! #rainraingoaway
Here is my hot random mess of Friday Faves…
The Slaughter kiddos believe it’s officially summer. They’ve been asking to swim on the daily. On Monday, the weather was amazing!! So I watched in the shade, got some work done, and they got their swim on.
We all shared our PERSONAL STYLE with Andrea on Tuesday for Show and Tell. If you missed it, you can check out my style here.
I got to join Ebby Lee on her field trip to the Dallas Zoo this week. I’ve gotta be honest….the zoo in Dallas in MAY? It didn’t sound that fabulous to me, but boy was I wrong. This was my favorite field trip to date! I loved getting to spend the day with this girl!
A bit warm-but a great day for the zoo!
I don’t know what is happening to me. It must be me getting older, but I used to not be like this. Back in the day, you could show me the saddest Hallmark commercial and I’d be fine-no tears. NOT ANYMORE! Now…reading a Mother’s Day card? I cry. Watching a random kid get baptized (I don’t even know him!). I cry. Watching Zach Roloff’s wedding on TLC?
I cried and let’s just say that’s putting it mildly.
I haven’t watched Little People Big World since they were teaching Zach and Jeremy how to drive! It’s been a long time. I just randomly saw the wedding advertise so I recorded it. I happened to watch while folding laundry earlier this week and was SOBBING when brother, Jeremy, and his dad, Matt, made their speeches! I called my mom right after to ask if she’d watched (she’s a big TLC fan). We chatted for a bit and then she mentioned the Roloff parents were separated or divorced. Cue the waterworks from Erika!
Did anyone else watch this wedding?? If so, PLEASE tell me you got emotional? 🙂
***Update…after working on this post, I also watched (part) of Jeremy Roloff’s wedding and it’s the speeches! They GET me!***
The sun was blinding us. haha! I could not keep my eyes open and Bowen said that he could only open one. After a day at the zoo, we met our dear, sweet Mackenzie for dinner. Mackenzie was our first go-to high school babysitter years ago when Ebby Lee and Nixon were just babies. She’s a senior in college this fall and we all love that girl dearly. She’s headed off to Colorado to work all summer at a camp, so we sent her off in style-with hugs and a dinner of cheeseburgers. 🙂
Shay and I were STRANDED this week and we shared the THREE books we’d take with us on the island. You guys had some great recommendations. Thanks so much for your suggestions! XOXO
Notice anything missing? 🙂
This girl came home from school yesterday and had pulled one of her front teeth. She set off to dance with Kensington and pulled her other tooth!
My blog post yesterday was about our infertility story. Thank you so much for commenting and letting me know that you needed to hear those words. I appreciate hearing from you. I got lots of e-mails from women sharing their stories as well. Do all of us have the same outcome? Absolutely not…but everyone I heard from yesterday-no matter the outcome-all said the same thing about God being in control and as tough as it is we must trust in His plan. Several of you are now mamas to littles you adopted but again-you all said-you are so thankful and see God’s hand in every detail of your story. Thank you, ladies, for sharing that with me yesterday.
While the big girls were at dance, we were taking selfies. Well, we did for about fifteen seconds but the rest of the time we were playing outside, jumping on the neighbor’s trampoline, and enjoying popsicles. #feelslikesummerishere
Thanks for stopping by!
Have the best weekend, girls!
