Hey Ladies!
It’s FRIDAY! Andrea, Narci, and I are sharing our Friday FAVORITES and just like every week we invite you to join us!
We’ve had a WEEK around our house. Bowen’s been recovering from his tonsillectomy, my mom’s been in town to help out with everything, I decided we should decorate for Christmas since we have an extra set of hands, and the whole being-forced to stay in makes me want to clean out things. So we’ve been super productive while we’ve been in the house all week. You know how decorating or organizing things always start to look WAY WORSE before they get better? Well, we had a lot of those moments! ha!
Here’s a look at some of my faves lately…
Don’t pay attention to the dirty laundry behind her, but we were at home all day on Friday. I was just doing stuff around the house and I heard, “MAMA MAMA!”. It was a pretty frantic cry! I raced around the corner to see Britt up on the stairs. Bless her heart. Of course I had to snap a picture first, because she was acting like she was hanging off a cliff waiting to be rescued. In reality, it was a three inch drop. 🙂 My mama self was so proud of this girl. Just a couple months ago, she wasn’t even walking and now she’s CLIMBING! Don’t worry, I put on my rock climbing gear and ventured up the cliff to save her. And by that, I mean I just picked her right up. 😉

This hasn’t arrived just yet, but I was in search of a cute, nicer coat for Britt to wear to church, dinner out, and that kind of thing. I found this one for a great price! You know how much I love the faux fur. I’ll keep you posted when it arrives.

Shay and I shared how we plan for the holidays during Workin’ It Wednesday. I’m not an expert by any means, but I shared what works for me. Shopping online is a huge lifesaver around the holidays. You can check out that post to see my other helpful tips.

This past weekend was the fall baseball season post tournament. Nixon’s team came out strong but couldn’t pull out the win to play for the championship. They finished second in the regular season though so they were stoked about those rings.

Local ladies…what are YOU doing on Sunday afternoon? Shay has a book signing in the Frisco area. It’s Sam’s Club with the Plano address at 8621 Ohio Drive from 1-3 p.m. You should grab some cookbooks and have her sign them for perfect Christmas presents!
Who wouldn’t love a signed copy for Christmas?!

I got dressed one day this week-ha! And wanted you to see the details…sweater, faux fur vest {from Target}, jeans, and booties. {Now more on sale!!}
I made some returns and found this jacket-that I LOVE! It is the PERFECT color for Thanksgiving! Super comfy and WARM! I’m not gonna call anyone out but someone told me I resembled a sexy sweet potato. hahahaha! I’ll take it! Hilarious!

These two have been on their best behavior because the BOOK FAIR is happening at school!

Have you guys shopped at Jane.com? A girlfriend told me to check it out for Christmas gifts. I did just that one night this week and found these personalized sling totes for $14.99. What a great price! They come in a twenty-one different designs and the personalization is included! I ordered one for Ebby Lee. There are lots of other kid deals as well. Britt scored a “Jesus is the Reason for the Season” shirt. I also spotted super cute necklaces, personalized puzzles, and more. I didn’t see any boy gifts I really liked, but for girls…this is a GREAT website!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas around our house. AHHH!!! You know that feeling when all your Christmas decor is up and every last box is back in the attic? Yes, it feels SO good! I’ll post more pictures later. {You know when it’s a bit closer to Christmas-ha!} But in the mean time, I do have a question for you…that tree shown above is pretty much held together with a lot of tape and a prayer. Usually Tab puts up the tree for me, so I never see how bad it really is. This year my mom and I did it and we had moments of-“Is this gonna stay up?”. ha! My plan is to get a Christmas tree on December 26th at a discount. A friend recently told me about Hayneedle so I’m for sure gonna search there. Do you guys have any other recommendations for good trees? I know I’ve got some time. 😉 Thank you!
And I must add the tree we have was given to us the first year we’d been married by another family who was getting rid of it. They’d had it for years and wanted a pre-lit tree. {Yeah, this one isn’t pre-lit.} We’ve had this tree for 11 years. It’s had a good run, I’d say.

Have you guys seen these? I was searching for something online at my grocery store to add to my order and stumbled upon these Broccoli and Cheese Veggie Tots. Now, I’m sure they aren’t that good for us compared to eating raw broccoli BUT compared to a regular tater tot or french fry, they’re the best choice! Tab and I had a moment eating these…if you’re a broccoli fan, they’re GOOD! Look for these in your freezer section. 2/3 of my kids were fans. #thatsimpressive

And local girls…don’t forget about the Manda Strong 5K and Fun Run TOMORROW! I registered our crew but sadly we’re gonna be at home unless Bowen has a remarkable recovery tonight.

I shared some great Christmas gift ideas including these pajamas earlier this week. This pajama set comes in winter patterns and Christmas patterns as well. I’m long-waisted so I was afraid this top might be too short but it fit great! There were lots of other goodies to choose as well.

On Sunday, this precious girls turns TWO! We’ll be celebrating all day!
And I accidentally took a little IG break. It happens! I just forget to post! I’m trying to do better…starting yesterday! ha! You can follow me at @slaughteren.
