Friday Favorites-October 4th, 2019 Edition

Hey There, Friday!

Am I glad to see you!  It’s been a WEEK around my house.  The kind of week that has me looking forward in the calendar to a four-day weekend.  😉

Andrea, Narci, and I are sharing our FRIDAY FAVORITES!  I have a random mix of faves in the line-up today.

I shared this sweatshirt in September and you guys I’m still loving it!  It can be dressed up or dressed down and is crazy affordable!  It’s a FAVORITE!  {My pants are here and a FAVORITE as well!}

Last weekend was full blown BOY MOM MODE for me…spoiler alert-I loved it!  Watching these boys is a FAVORITE!  We had some of Bowen’s first grade friends over to play football after school on Friday.

And we followed it up with baseball for Nixon and his team later in the weekend.

I have a feeling when this is over I’ll miss it SO MUCH!!  Moms of older kiddos-don’t you miss these days?

*************************

A FAVORITE skirt made it’s way to my house this week!  I’m not sure where you’re living, but here in Texas it’s CRAZY hot STILL {however, it’s supposed to cool off a bit this weekend}.  I’ve been struggling with clothes lately.

Do I pretend like FALL has arrived?  Remember my picture of Britney?

Or…do I pretend like it’s mid-summer and stick to all my shorts {which now have gotten short due to all the wash/dry times}??

I’ve been struggling, but this SKIRT is a great answer!  If you’re in between sizes I’d size down.

Another FAVORITE??  Check out the cutest bows in the One Stop Bow Shop Bigger Box for October!  One Stop Bow Shop now has monthly subscription bow boxes with choices.  You can choose the size of bows you receive in your box each month with the traditional box or an upgraded version called, Bigger Box.  Our FAVORITE bows AND I have a code for you!  You can get 10% off your first Bow Box with the code, ErikaBox.  This bow subscription box would make a GREAT gift!  With the holidays approaching, it might be something you check off that list easily.

A little look at our One Stop Bow Shop bows in action.

I have a huge favor….do you guys have any family picture ideas that are a little different from our typical everyone wear coordinating colors look?  I’m really wanting to do something a little different but I don’t know what that looks like.  If you have any suggestions of something you’ve seen or done yourself, please leave them in the comments!  I’d love to hear your suggestions!

Thanks so much for reading today!  Hope you have a restful weekend!  See you Monday!

Love all your favs! I always do! I need to buy my little some of these bows! I'm obsessed! I totally understand the heat situation, here in Florida, it's still hitting 95 almost every day. 🙁 I'm sticking to my shorts and dresses, for now, can't risk looking like Britney! lol!

I don't know how different this photo idea is, as it's still a spin on colors. One year we did (kids only) son in red/white stripes, one daughter in red with big white polka dots, one daughter in solid red. So, basically, same colors different prints. Have fun, I'm sure no matter what you decide your photos will be adorable!

It is stupid hot here. Every time I take my kids out for recess I feel like I need a whole change of clothes! Last year for our pictures, I wore a fall-ish purple with army green and a white sweater and I had my baby boy in a striped romper and my big boy in jeans and a plaid layered button down…my husband wore something neutral (a button down and sweater). No one had on the same colors but it was all muted and fall-ish! They’re perfect for hanging around the house because our clothes don’t stick out like a sore thumb.

Mom of boys here, they are a junior and senior in high school. And yes, you are really living the best days. I miss all those days running from one ball park to another. We have senior night for football next Friday night and I tear up every time I think about it! Literally going to miss this like crazy.

Pick one colour and let everyone pick their own outfits but some part of the outfit has to have that colour on it! It will be a fun adventure and you will remember it!
As a mom of two boys (9 and almost 12) I am just a little ahead of you and this season is fantastic….I also fear it will end too soon! Loving all the sports!

Have your kids wear something that represents the activities that they are in. Baseball uniforms, volleyball, dance outfit. That way it tells a little story of the interest of each kiddo.

Since you guys live at a ball field – football or baseball what if you did family pics at the ball field? So just changing the background to something different than beautiful fall locations.

Do a super casual family photo shoot in your house! Jeans and graphic tees. I saw @Cottonstem do something similar and it was soo cute! It's more of a lifestyle photo shoot!

Have everyone wear something that describes them or their interests. My aunt does this all the time as her kids' interests change as they get older. My favorite to this day was when she wore an apron, messy hair and heels w/ her kitchen aid mixer, my uncle wore jeans/boots, oldest son wore his motocross uniform and brought his dirt bike, youngest son wore his complete soccer uniform and brought his ball and their daughter wore a princess dress wither her hair curled pretty, a crown and her dirty tennis shoes! It was such a fun picture and we are actually doing it this year with our pictures. Hope this helps! 🙂

Some might thing this makes me a bad mom but mine are 19 and 15 and I do not miss the days of running from place to place and games and practices 6 days a week. I love the slower place of life that we are in now.

Mom of a 19 year old and a 14 year old here! I was just commenting today that I miss all the Saturday soccer and flag football days! There are definitely fun things now (who knew teens could be so fun?!) but there is something about those sweet Saturday’s at the fields.
