Friday Favorites-8.6.21

Happy, Happy Friday!

I hope you’re having a great week!  This has been a busy week since we were out of town at the beginning for Tab’s birthday, so I’m happy to see Friday to do a little catch up over the weekend.  Andrea and I are here to share our FRIDAY FAVORITES.  This might be the most random list hopping from such a serious FAVORITE to food FAVORITES but that’s what this little space is all about, right?  A little bit of everything…

My first FAVORITE is this family.  If you’ve been reading here a while, then you might recognize my cousin, Ty, and his precious wife, Morgan.  My kiddos were both in their wedding years ago, they’ve been to Texas to visit us several times, and are just some of our FAVORITE people in the world.  About seven years ago, they decided they were ready to start a family but experienced infertility.  They went to countless doctor appointments, tried a wide variety of things, and spent more time in prayer you can imagine but look at this….

Their sweet baby boy was born on July 1st and if I told you I didn’t cry when I saw his picture for the first time, I’d be lying {and I’m not usually a crier}.  Imagine earnestly praying for a baby for seven years, watching as others were having children, just waiting, and finally holding your sweet baby.  Needless to say, our family is praising Jesus for this sweet baby.

Just wanted to share a huge praise for our family that arrived this summer through this sweet baby.

I know many of you out there might be experiencing this same heartache, but God has a plan for you.  Maybe that’s through a pregnancy or maybe the plan is for you to grow your family through adoption.  I’m not sure, but God is faithful and he hears each and every prayer.  I know the waiting can be excruciatingly tough.  I’ll be praying for you today.

School starts NEXT WEEK here in North Texas so my kids and I have been getting all the things ready for their first day.  We were talking school supplies this week and due to so much of it being via their computers they didn’t understand this meme like I did.  I remember ALWAYS looking for a pencil.  Why did I never have one?  Anyone else?

I finally revived my Instagram by joining the Instagram world again and posting our summer vacation when we headed west beginning in Salt Lake City and eventually ending in Montana.  I got lots of questions about our trip so I’m blogging it all and have shared Part 1 and Part 2 so far.  If you’ve missed them, please go read.  And if you have any specific questions, send them my way or comment and I’m happy to answer.

First food FAVORITE from the week is this Fried Pickle and Ranch Dip.  Have you tried it?  I got my Walmart Delivery order and added lots of lunch goodies so I threw this dip in at the last minute.  We had it with the Baked Ruffles and it was DELICIOUS!

I started blogging our summer vacation earlier this week and wanted to share this FAVORITE snack I found while in Wyoming.  We packed lots of hearty snacks for our National Park days.  This Extra Tender Beef Jerky was one of the best beef jerkys I’ve ever had!  Basically, keep your eye out.

Can you tell by the wrinkled state of the bag we are big fans of these Truffle and Sea Salt Kettle Chips?  I’d never seen these before but stumbled upon them at Walgreens and couldn’t resist.  I have an addiction to those Trader Joe’s truffle potato chips but I don’t buy them that often because I seriously cannot stop eating them.  These are krinkle cut but other than that are very similar to the Trader Joe’s truffle chips.  If you’re a truffle fan, you should give them a try!

That’s a wrap on my FAVORITES from this week!  We have a busy week with many practices and activities kicking off tomorrow.  See you back here on Tuesday, friends!

Thank you for sharing the awesome news of your family's sweet new addition. We too are on that hard road of infertility and going through all the things right now. Thank you for always being so real. I need to try to find some of those truffle chips! Those would be rightupmyaliway. 😉
