Friday Favorites-7.17.20

HELLO, FRIDAY!

This is me right about now…
I’m not sure how you’re feeling where you live, but it is HOT here in Texas!  Ebby Lee and I ran a couple errands yesterday and at one point, I looked over mid-store and we were both sweating!  INSIDE!  It is HOT!

In typical Friday fashion, Andrea and I have joined forces to bring you FRIDAY FAVORITES!  If you’re a blogger, you should join us!  Simply add your blog to the bottom of the link-up and link back to us!  It’s a great way to find other great blogs to read!

I’m sharing FIVE FAVORITES from my week with you today!

I shared a SWIMSUIT POST recently and noticed a few days ago that Athleta is having their SEMI-ANNUAL SALE RIGHT NOW!  If you were contemplating one of those suits, now is the time!

*************************
Do I have any other fellow Girl Scouts out there?  I was a Daisy, Brownie, and made my way to Junior before retiring my Girl Scout career.  We went to Girl Scout Day Camp and I was living MY BEST LIFE!  Nothing but GREAT memories when I think back to this camp!  One of those great memories was making taco salads over the camp fire.

The key ingredients?

Kidney beans AND French’s Dressing!

I made taco salads a couple weeks ago and added those two thing and my people RAVED!  WHY have I not been making them that way for years?  They raved so much so that we had them again last night….a new FAMILY FAVORITE!

You should try the Girl Scout Taco Salads…taco meat, lettuce, any other toppings you like {we add diced tomatoes, cheddar cheese, and green onions}, but don’t forget the kidney beans and French’s Dressing!

Was anyone reading a Girl Scout growing up too?

*************************

Speaking of taco salads, do you have a meat chopper for your ground beef?

Or ground turkey?

Or ground chicken?

Or breakfast sausage?

Want me to keep going?  🙂

I’ve had the same meat chopper for YEARS and it finally bit the dust so I just ordered this one from Amazon and it’s a new FAVORITE!

************************

This cutie is always a FAVORITE!  She’s the such a trooper during a hot night {or hot day} at the ballfield cheering on her brothers!

************************

EEEKKKKK!!!

It’s PLANNER TIME!  I think I shared a few weeks ago that I snagged this planner, but I started writing things inside and felt the need to tell you again!  A FAVORITE!  I’ve had all different kinds of planners through the years and this is a FAVORITE.  It’s July 2020-June 2021, is relatively thin so it fits easily inside a bag, and shows both weekly/monthly views.  This is the same one just a different cover {that’s actually cuter}.

************************

Okay, friends!  It’s gonna be a SCORCHER this weekend and we have a baseball tournament.
See you back here next week and odds are, I’ll be looking a LOT like this!

XO

We've actually been having really nice weather but it sounds like today's rainstorms are bringing in a warm front where our weather will be up in the 90's this weekend.

It is sooooooooo hot. Yesterday when we were walking the dogs (they like their walks at 3:00 in the afternoon, the absolute hottest part of the day) I felt like it was hard to breathe it was so hot! We've tried to convince them that early morning or late night walks would be better, but they are loyal to the 3:00 time slot. 🙂

Also a Girl Scout, here! And we made those taco salads all the time growing up! We added Doritos, and it was a game changer!

I love the simplified planner!!! One of the best investments I have made, plus the story behind it is even better. Plus, getting it all organized and set up is part of the fun! Have a great weekend.

We used to make very similar tacos back when I was a kid but we called them walking tacos and we would make our tacos in a bag of fritos and then cover in dressing. It was delicious!
Also, I was a girl scout from 4-18 years old. I cannot believe that I have been done with girl scouts for 12 years now! Hopefully (if I have a daughter one day) I will be able to be a troop leader for her! 🙂
