WAHOO! I’m so happy to see you, Friday!
I’ve teamed up with Narci and Andrea again to bring you our FRIDAY FAVORITES! Grab our graphic, link to one or all of our blogs, and join our link up!
I’m not sure WHAT I was trying to take a picture of here, but I had two of these on my phone. Tab had a knee surgery on Tuesday morning and I brought my computer. I set up shop in the waiting room, sipped my coffee, and watched the Today show while I worked. I’m sure it wasn’t so glorious for him…but it was a pretty calm morning for me. He’s been at home this week recovering and having him at home has been a FAVORITE!
Yes, I have no doubt the day will come when I FINISH the last episode. Gossip Girl is on repeat and it’s a FAVORITE!
This was me on Wednesday night…with Tab out of commission on the stairs at the moment, I’m the one handling all the upstairs’ duties. On this particular night, the boys were sleeping in the boy room together and Ebby Lee was solo. She shouted down that the boys were chewing gum. It’s 8:00 p.m., I just put them all to bed, and the boys have GUM?! I march upstairs in my I-mean-business-style march, tell them in my “mom voice” to spit the gum out immediately, and stand there waiting with my hands-on-my-hips. I’m serious. Right? The boys jump up and run to the bathroom to spit out their gum. {I should stop here to mention there are three small steps leading down to the boy room.} Nixon runs back in first and jumps in bed. I’m going on and on about how it’s time for them to go to bed. I don’t want to hear another sound…yada yada. Keep in mind…I am STONE COLD serious. Mama isn’t playing. About that time, Bowen comes running in the room from spitting out his gum, he has that quick feet thing going on because he’s a little nervous Mom is upset, and on the descent of the stairs he bites it. He slides down the stairs on his tush. Remember I’m mid-“NO MORE NOISE OR EVERYONE’S IN TROUBLE..” Nixon couldn’t help it. He busted out laughing and all my mom voice talk was gone. Bowen popped right up and joined the now hysterically laughing Nixon. I started cracking and made a beeline out of the room. Hoping they didn’t notice. Oh my goodness!! BOYS!!! By the time I made it down to Tab to relay the story, I was crying I was laughing so hard. A FAVORITE moment of the week for sure!
Have you guys heard of Favor? Favor is a delivery service for restaurants and even a few retailers that works very similar to Uber. It’s an app, you choose what restaurant you want, you order off the app, and you wait for Favor to find a driver. The driver heads to the restaurant of your choice, orders your food, and then delivers right to your door. There is a small fee and a tip included in the service, but on a rainy night when you just don’t feel like cooking, a night when you’re solo with the kids and just want something other than pizza delivered, or at lunch time when you’re busy working and need some nourishment delivered…it’s totally worth it! It’s only in certain areas at the moment, but it’s worth a look in your city! Definitely a FAVORITE this week!
I ordered this dress a while back and kind of forgot it was hanging in my closet. I love the color (definitely more green than this picture), the cold shoulder is just a little extra fun, and the length is perfect. I wore it to church on Sunday and completely forgot to take a picture. It was super cute paired with my leopard heels.
It’s a little blurry if I make it bigger-but last weekend Tab and I joined these girls and their hubbies at the Hugs Gala supporting Hugs Cafe. If you’ve never heard of Hugs Cafe, it’s a cafe in downtown McKinney run by adults with special needs. They serve lunch from 11-3 p.m. Monday-Saturday. If you’ve never been, you should check it out! Tab and I had the best time with this group on Saturday. We laughed, cried-(some of the speeches brought us to tears), and rejoiced/mourned together when we were the high bidder or out bid during the silent auction. SO MUCH FUN!
My dress is here.
A Little Recappin’:
On Wednesday, I kept you up to date with some things CURRENTLY happening in the Slaughter house. By the way, this is the face I make when preparing for the 100th Day of School project. hahaha! Anyone else?
I shared a new bright idea I had yesterday. If you’re someone struggling with infertility, please hop over to check out the post.
I think that’s all for this week. Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great weekend! XO
