Years ago, I did a post about what I was CURRENTLY in to at the moment.  I thought it was time for another CURRENTLY post.  ðŸ™‚

Making:   A trip to the store soon so my kiddos can choose their VALENTINES.  Mamas, don’t wait…you know those boxed valentines get picked over!  Now is the time!  That picture above is how you’ll be feeling if you can’t find any at the store.

Cooking:   Pizza Meatballs with pasta for dinner.

Drinking:  Coffee, Iced Tea, and Water on repeat.  I don’t make iced tea at home.  I feel like when I make it tastes weird, so this is my drink of choice when I’m out.  So weird…I know!

Eating:  I’ve been really into grabbing sushi at our local grocery store for lunch.  It’s quick, yummy, and in my mind it’s healthy. (Probably not when I get the sushi with the crunchy things on top…haha!)

Reading:  Almost finished reading Move On by Vicki Courtney.

Wanting:  To find the perfect light fixture for our front room.  *Where do you guys look for light fixtures?  Somewhere online?  I’d love any recommendations!

Looking:  For a light fixture that will be very traditional looking…maybe even a tad rustic because I want it to balance out the modern look of the dining room.  I’m thinking something wooden would be pretty.

Playing:  I mentioned yesterday we’ve all been watching Dude Perfect’s YouTube videos.  Many of you guys have Dude Perfect fans at your house as well.  We tried for a good thirty minutes to throw the football over the house and have it land in a bucket.  Sounds crazy, but if you watch the show-it’s very Dude Perfect.  I feel like anything that can be tossed, kicked, or slapped and potentially land in a strange place has been happening a lot at my house.

Wasting:  I found a package of buns in the back of the pantry I clearly forgot about and OH MY GOODNESS!  I didn’t know substances like that could grow so quickly in the pantry.  I was just missing the petri dish.

Buying:  All the ski clothes…for the kiddos.  We’re taking a little last minute trip and the kiddos are going to tackle the slopes.  You guys saw my skills.  #imawful  So, the kiddos and I are sharing an instructor. #givemeallthebunnyslopes

Sewing:  HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!  NOT a THING!  Two funny sewing stories…in high school for a class I had to sew an outfit.  I made a v-neck tee (didn’t look too bad) with a plaid skirt.  The plaid skirt is what got me.  It was crooked and the pockets were the wrong size.  But…in our first house I mustered up all my sewing skills and made flat panel curtains for a few rooms.

Wishing:   I could turn back time.  In the trenches of motherhood, it’s so hard to wrap your head around those tiny babies growing up.  What I wouldn’t give to rock one of my babies, one more time.   Don’t worry, I hold them like babies and force them to let me rock them, but they’re laughing and screaming.  It’s just not the same.  Give that squishy baby Nixon in that picture above!

Loving:  The WEATHER!  I’m a big fan of one or two big snow days, but that hasn’t happened in a while in Texas.  So, if it’s not going to be crazy cold and snow us in, then I’m all for the sunshine!

Hoping:  We get Nixon’s 100th Day of School shirt made quickly without any hiccups.  In kindergarten the kiddos dress up like one hundred year olds and in first grade they are supposed to wear one hundred of something.

Marvelling:  About how many times in the day, four-year-old Bowen can manage to work the word, “poop” into everyday conversation.

Needing:  Some sort of organization company to come look at all our closets and then tell me where to put things.  I don’t think I have the ability to organize closets well.  I’m lacking in this department.

Smelling:  Apple Spice Candle…apple is more of a fall scent, but it’s absolutely one of my favorites.

Wearing:  Jeans, Booties, Tunic, and my Baby Blardigan (because #sheaffertoldmeto)

Praying:  For a miracle…I know many of you have been joining us in praying for our friend, Manda.  We simply can’t thank you enough.

Noticing:  Our shoe closets smells like boy’s feet!!!  We have a closet downstairs where we keep all the kiddos’ shoes, jackets, and backpacks.  Yesterday, when I opened it to put something in…a big whiff of stinky boy feet almost knocked me over.  How young is too young for Odor Eaters?  Or maybe the boys need to start keeping their shoes in the garage?

Knowing:  One day,  I’ll be aching for one more day with a closet filled with stinky boy feet shoes, so I’m going to embrace it.  And soak it all in!  SMELL AND ALL!

Thinking:  About this verse from Romans 8:26-28 (this is from the Message Bible) “Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.”

Opening:  I just got a package from Sally Hepworth and it was her NEW BOOK!!  The Mother’s Promise releases on February 21, 2017.  You can pre-order now.  I can’t wait to start reading.

Giggling:  At Bowen and his love for Madeley’s cheeks…you guys must know that every time we see Madeley I have to say NUMEROUS TIMES…”Stop touching Madeley’s cheeks”.  He’s obsessed.  You’ve seen the pictures.  We all want to squeeze her cheeks.  Trust me.  Bowen is doing it enough for us all.

Feeling:  A little envious of Tab at the moment.  He had a knee surgery yesterday.  Today, he’s laid up watching Netflix, I’m waiting on him hand and foot, and he’s on pain medicine.  Sounds a bit delightful.  Doesn’t it?  ðŸ˜‰

I hope you’re CURRENTLY doing great!
XOXO

Those little shoe balls are the best! (Just make sure you close them when not in use or they don't last as long) I also put the renuzit super odor killer in original scent in all of our closets!

I don't know if you have any essential oils on hand, but a few drops in each shoe works wonders! Young Living has one called purification and it's amazing.

Put a dryer sheet in each shoe when they take them off for the day :). That's what the military guys do in the field and it works like a charm.

If the shoe closet has a plug in,I recommend Glade Plug In Air Fresheners. If not, I recommend Glade's Solid Air Fresheners (where you twist it open). Would definitely help with odor!

I wash my boys shoes all the time! I have a hand wash cycle on my washer I do them on that and it is easy on them. Also, you might have to ask Narci about this one… Young Living has an oil called purification, you put a drop or two on a cotton ball and put them in the shoe overnight. The smell will be gone, no joke! It's amazing! Trust me you will want to know this as soon as your boys start playing football. Those cleats, I had no idea anything could stink that bad!

I love this sight for lighting and feel like a lot of people don't know about it:

We have the Sanger Large Chandelier in our master bedroom and it makes the most beautiful, sparkles (like diamonds) all over the bedroom. We also had a dimmer put on it, which makes it super romantic. In fact, we have a dimmer on all of our light fixtures and its an easy way to change the mood and ambiance in a room for parties or other activities.

Hi Erika! You mentioned needing help organizing closets – you should check out Libby Huffines at Libby and Labels, LLC (www.libbyandlabels.com or http://www.facebook.com/libbyandlabels). That's exactly what she does and she's SO good at it!

Also, I'm a big iced tea fan and love having it at home – if you haven't tried it already, I suggest getting the Mr. Coffee Iced Tea Maker (it's around $15 at Walmart!) and asking your favorite places to get tea if they will sell you the tea they use. For example, I love the iced tea at Blue Mesa Grill in Frisco, TX, so I buy it from there! Just ask the cashier / waiter and they'll typically do it for you 🙂

I love reading your blog – thanks for bringing a smile to so many faces!
