Calling All Experts…

If this could be you, then you’re EXACTLY who I need to be reading here today.  🙂

Hi Friends!

I’m on the hunt, on a MISSION!  A mission to find THE VERY BEST DRY SHAMPOO.  After super preliminary trials, and by this I mean living my best life with the use of dry shampoo, I know what brand I would choose as my favorite.  But I’ve never really compared apples to apples.  I’ve never taken pictures and shown my proof.  You guys!  It’s like my ninth grade science project all over again, but this time the results are gonna be life changing.  Well, as life-changing as those extra minutes of sleeping in can be.  I mean the best hair days due to the BEST DRY SHAMPOO could be life changing.  Right?  At this moment, I don’t even remember which laundry detergent was less flame retardant.  I typically buy my laundry detergent by how well it gets out stains AND the smell.  My ninth grade self has no clue.  BUT, this science experiment will be different.

Dry shampoo is making dreams last longer.  Am I right?

It’s my mission to find you THE VERY BEST DRY SHAMPOO on the market!

Here are some things I’ll be taking into consideration…

*How it leaves my hair feeling (by touching it)
*How it leaves my hair looking (still dirty, super clean, etc.)
*How long it keeps my hair looking good in between washes

My plan is to spread this project out until I’ve had a chance to use all the different dry shampoo brands in between hair washings.  I’ll blog it all, score the products, and hopefully deliver the results sooner rather than later.

This is where I need YOUR help.  I know you guys are passionate about dry shampoo.  I’d LOVE for you to share YOUR FAVORITE DRY SHAMPOO BRAND with me OR maybe you keep hearing about a certain brand and you’d love me to review it.  Just send me your recommendations!  I contemplated ordering a ton from Amazon and giving them all a shot, but decided I wanted to get my list from you.

I’m telling you, girls!  I hoping to give you some extra minutes to your night by finding THE BEST DRY SHAMPOO.

I hope after this experiment we all feel a little more rested.

PLEASE help me out and share a DRY SHAMPOO brand you’d love me to review.

I’m hoping to have some life-changing results with you soon.  Thanks, girls!

I can't wait to see if any brunettes recommend any great ones. I've only tried 2, but neither one worked for my dark hair AT ALL. It was terrible!

Here Is a trick bc I have hair as dark as you. Wet your roots a bit, spray, then blow dry! It doesn’t take long and gets rid of the white. Best one without a white residue is big sexy hair, gives best volume ever. Moroccan oil makes a brunette one that is good. For cheaper ones dove and suave, but you have to wet the roots.

Oribe Gold Lust dry shampoo is my favorite and I've tried many brands. I am a brunette as well and a trick that I have found that works very well is to spray it on my scalp and wait a few minutes for it to dry. Then I comb through my hair and flip my hair upside down and turn on the hair dryer and comb my fingers through my hair. Flip up and continue with the hair dryer a minute. Comb through it and done. It looks like a fresh blow out and no traces of white spots from the dry shampoo.

I use Batiste! I’m a brunette too and I have found several things that help with no white residue. First, the stuff for dark hair that’s tinted is best, but for a while I couldn’t find it. I also always spray it on at night so it has time absorb a bit. And I massage it into my scalp a little bit too. Disclaimer: I am cheap and can find this brand at TJMaxx for not much cash. My top three dry shampoo brands listed below.

Each of these is sold in a mini size if you’re interested in trying:

    1. Elizabeth & James Nirvana White – Mary Kate & Ashley’s grown-up, high fashion brand. I’m a big fan of this perfume scent, so I love that this product is really a 2-in-1. Gives you great hair AND leaves you smelling like an angel. I repurchase this when I feel like treating myself

    2. Living Proof – You might be familiar with Jennifer Aniston’s face promoting this brand. This is probably my most frequently repurchased dry shampoo – it does a great job at really absorbing the oil in your hair, I absolutely love the clean scent, and it doesn’t leave your hair looking powdery. *Tip – often sold in bundle deals near the holidays

    3. DRYBAR – This is for when you HAVE NOT washed your hair in days and you need some serious oil absorbing. If you use too much, your hair will turn white. I use this when I want to appear as if I’m functioning & put together 🙂 – great for volume

The best affordable brand is Batiste (sold everywhere in drugstores, typically $7-9) if you use a LOT of dry shampoo on a regular basis. Various scents, also comes in darker tint to avoid the grey old lady look

THANK YOU for this post! I'm a dark brunette and have yet to find one that I truly love. I've done a few from Walmart, just the basic ones like Herbal Essences, etc…

I've also done Living Proof and Dry Bar and I equally like those two. They smell great and do soak up oil, but not as well as I'd like without leaving my hair looking like it's gray. Plus, a bit pricey for my liking.

My sister in law just told me about Batiste that she bought at Walmart and RAVED about it. It's on my next Walmart shopping list!

For brunettes, I'd like to know a dry shampoo that doesn't make your hair look gray, smells great, and has a decent price!

It does actually feel like it cleans your hair and I love the scent. I can go a couple more days in between washes when I use it. The most expensive one is the MONAT dry shampoo. I read somewhere that it's best to put the powder in your hair at bedtime if you plan to not wash your hair in the morning so that your hair has had time to absorb the powder and I typically try to do this.

I tried the blonde Batiste dry shampoo and it is amazing. My sister taught me a trick, and it has made a huge difference. Spray the dry shampoo in your roots, rub in with your fingers, then brush your hair all over. Then, pull your hair part way up and make the top be poofy, and hold with a spring clip. Sleep with your hair like that and when you take the clip out in the morning you will have incredible volume. I can 3-4 days in between washes when before, I was an every other day girl!

I haven't seen anyone else mention this one yet, it's definitely a little under the radar, but it is AMAZING. I have a bottle for myself and I keep a bottle in my downstairs guest bathroom for my friends to try when they come over because I love it so much. I have had at least 15 people go buy it after I forced them to try it! Even my little brother uses it when he is over! Haha! Its the Ouai (pronounced 'way') Dry Shampoo Foam, I get it at Sephora but I'm pretty sure it's on Amazon as well. You squirt a golf ball sized amount into your palm and rub it into your roots just like you are using mouse to wash your hair. It dries in less than 30 seconds and leaves your hair feeling crazy clean and it smells insanely good. Never leaves a white cast or built up. I'm completely obsessed! For spray on options, the Living Proof and Batiste are good options, but I have noticed quite a bit of build up with the Batiste.

I can offer no suggestions for the brunettes.. However– BABY POWDER , in my opinion is the best.. it has to be the kind WITH CORN STARCH- in my trials it doesn't matter if it name or store brand as long as it has the corn starch in it… I use it at night and again in the morning — just a little and it soaks up the oil. For volume and umph, I like dove for spray or the Blow Dry – faux Dry which is powder.

I'd LOVE for you to compare the two because I use Batiste most of the time because Dry Bar is a little out of my budget, but if you could review both in depth that would be AMAZING.

Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo is the best! It's the only one that works for me. I have dark, thin, fine hair and it totally helps me go 4+ days between washing.

My go-to cheap dry shampoo is DOVE Volume and Fullness. I use dry shampoo everyday except day #1 hair. It's a great price point and it's given me as many as 6 days between washings. Can't wait to see the results!

Im way too excited about your science project!!! I use baby powder often or batiste. I tried Dove but kept spraying deodorant in my hair(yep, that happened) instead of dry shampoo so that had to go. Ive heard living proof is great but havent tried it.

Aveda dry shampure. Pricey, yes, but it last a long time because it’s actually powder. Smells amazing like all aveda stuff.

This might be the best post ever! I cant wait to see your "results"! I LOVE Batiste. I have really light blonde hair, so I like the white to help cover my roots and it makes my hair not look brassy. I also, like the volume it gives my hair. The reasonable price is just right for me because I use it so often.

I’ve tried many dry shampoos myself! My favorite by far is AG Hair Care Dry Shampoo in Brunette! Never chalky and Helps hide the gray hair in between coloring! Give it a try! Got it at Beauty Brands or Ulta!

I have tried several brands and my favorite is Drybar. I like the Detox dry shampoo a lot and there is also the Triple Sec which will add texture to your hair.

So I love Dry Bar Triple Sec— it smells so good, but it’s a little pricy considering I use it every other day. My go-to is Hask. They have several scents and types, but I think the most effective is Chia Seed. It smells good and lasts ALL day. I’ve gotten it at Ulta, Target and Walmart, in a pinch. Living Proof made my scalp hurt after awhile. Suave and Dove are only so-so.

Enjoy brand dry shampoo is my absolute favorite! For a low price option, the gold can of Suave works surprisingly well.

Found my fave-Amika perk up dry shampoo. I’ve tried others including living proof (which i was only able to use 3x before i just couldn’t anymore as it didn’t work for me and the scent gave me constant headaches). Amika smells amazing, it’s pricey ($23) but a little goes a long way for me and works beautifully. No white residue. I part my hair, spray a little on my roots, repeat and repeat them massage it into my scalp with my fingertips. Takes about 15 seconds and I’m able to go 4 days between washes!

I have tried SO MANY kinds! My favorite right now is Klorane with nettles. I have no idea what nettles are but this part is important. I order online from Sephora. It sprays white but I just let it sit for a minute and then brush it through.

I love love love Bed Head Bee Hive dry shampoo! It doesn't leave that powdery feeling in my hair. I usually spray it at my roots and then tip my head over and blow dry it for just a couple of seconds to give it more volume. It smells wonderful! I can't wait to hear your results!! And, it is on sale at Beauty Brands right now for $9.99.

Ouai is the best aerosol dry shampoo I've ever had, but Living proof is wonder full too. Aveda dry shampoo is probably my best money value, It's a powder so it lasts months longer than any aerosol dry shampoo I've ever had. Also, my favorite tip (for brunettes), courtesy of Lauren Conrad, is spraying the dry shampoo in the night before so it really soaks in and all the white flakes are gone.

I haven't seen anyone mention this, and I think it's the best! Hair Food! Some of the cheaper brands mentioned made my head feel itchy. Hair Food is about $11 a bottle at Target, and it lasts me forever. I can go days without washing; my hair still looks good and feels good!
