Hey, Hey Everyone!
Happy Monday! I hope you Mamas out there had a great day yesterday. Please know those of you who are yearning to be a mom were in my thoughts and prayers. And all those of you who have lost a mom were in my prayers too. I know it’s a hard day for a lot of people.
I celebrated the day by arriving at the local Urgent Care before 5:00 a.m. certain I had strep. Mama knows best because YES, I did. Boo. After two shots and three prescriptions, I made it back home around 6:00 a.m.. Needless to say, our day didn’t really look like what we were envisioning, but we made the best of it!
Today, Nordstrom reached out and asked me to talk about SWIMWEAR FOR KIDDOS. Our family is in swim suits approximately six days out of seven in the summer, so I’d like to think I know a thing or two about swimwear. And with Nordstroms’ free shipping and free returns they make sizing and such so incredibly easy.
Last week, Britt had another FIRST….her FIRST week of swim lessons with Mrs. Sally. {Our family has been going to Mrs. Sally since Ebby Lee was two. She’s one of those people who get brought up into conversation at our house ALL YEAR LONG. We all use her lingo…kickers, eyes wet, and more. She’s SO GOOD with the kiddos.} I thought it was the perfect week to highlight some suits from Nordstrom as well.
Day One…she had no clue what she was getting herself into. 🙂 She wasn’t the biggest fan but having Madeley by her side definitely helped! This swimsuit set is adorable and will be perfect for our beach vacation later this summer. And great news…her tiny feet are growing so she can fit into these cute sandals this summer!
Big brother, Bowen, was pumped about getting to watch her first day of swim lessons. Bowen’s clothes are all hand-me-downs from Nix, but his Natives are in stock. Bowen wears Natives practically all year long. On really cold days, we leave them behind, but other than that…his shoe of choice is a Native. 🙂
On Day Two, she was all smiles until she hit the water. 🙂
Give me all the ruffles….this suit is a cute one! Her shoe pattern is sold out, but these are the same shoe-just different color. This another shoe that is cute AND can fit teeny, tiny feet. 🙂
Please know-I said, “Put your hands on your hips”. We’re still working on body parts. 😉
Wednesday, she wore her red, white, and blue suit. Her tankini option is sold out, but there’s another red, white, and blue sailboat option that’s super similar. And again, those cute sandals.
It was so bright outside, but Day Four was when this girl turned it around at swim lessons. She did SO GOOD. There were barely any tears and she did everything!! It’s hard to see this cute suit, but it is a great tankini option paired with this dress and sandals.
Two girlfriends waiting for their turn.
On the last day of swim, Britt Slaughter was channeling her inner-Michael Phelps. {Maybe that’s pushing it just a bit, but that’s how this mama felt about her performance. ha!} There wasn’t a single tear the entire time.
It was Britt’s turn to jump off the wall and she would shout, “MOM!”. Which meant, “Mom, please make sure you’re watching.” And she’d jump…
See her little head mid-jump?!
I’m so so proud of this girl! She did GREAT! And finished Friday with a medal AND a lollipop! This suit is cute in the front, but it’s DARLING in the back. There’s a pop of bright coral fringe along the scoop in the back.
We’re counting down the Mondays over here when we get to live in our suits 24/7! Hope you are too!
A big THANK YOU to Nordstrom for sponsoring this post!
