Austin Road Trip

Last week Tab had a work trip to Barton Creek in Austin.  I’d heard great things about the resort, so I jumped on the chance for the kiddos and I to tag along.  Our first stop in Austin…PIZZA for dinner!

We unloaded our bags in the room and instantly hit the Nature Trail at the resort.

Detour to the golf course…Barton Creek is definitely known for their golf.  Beautiful views!!

Nix needed to practice his putting, BUT we didn’t have a putter so it became a new game he made up.  Throw the golf balls into the little cup.  ðŸ™‚

We had a delicious breakfast the next morning.  I posted this picture on IG.  Ebby Lee said, “We are the loudest family in here.”  I 100% agreed with her!  haha!

Tab had to get down to business so the kiddos and I went off to do our own thing.  Ebby Lee wanted to hit up the Nature Trail again!  So, we did that first.  I wrote all about it HERE.

It was a nice cool and cloudy morning.  But after the trail, we hit up the pool.  I took NOT ONE PICTURE!  We had lunch and the kiddos swam.  B and I watched.  It was FREEZING!!  We participated in the hot tub portion.  ðŸ™‚

After the pool, we got cleaned up and Mackenzie arrived!!  Mackenzie was my kiddos FIRST EVER babysitter.  We love love love her like family!  She’s in college now, but we see her any chance we get!  She’s doing an internship at a church in Austin so we were pumped when she said she’d come hang out!  My kiddos LOVE her!

The resort had a little miniature golf course, so we braved the heat to do that!

All of a sudden it was HOT and HUMID outside!!!  We went in for a drink and a snack and THIS happened!!  An ORANGE Gatorade went down!  All over the rug!

By this point, Tab was finished, so we met up with all the “work guys” and a few family members for dinner.

Crazy girls got my phone!!  We ate at the Grove in Austin.  Delish!!

The last day was rainy and just kind of yucky!  Tab had meetings until the early afternoon.  At the last minute, I decided the kiddos and I would hit up The Thinkery (a fairly new children’s museum in Austin).
The first thing we saw…”Choo Choo” trains!  Bowen was in heaven!!

We waited patiently while the boys played with the trains.

This museum was REALLY cool and geared perfectly for my kiddos’ ages.

Nixon’s very favorite spot in the entire museum.  He didn’t want to leave.

The boys participated in this band.

They had a cute little booth where you took your picture and then it appeared up on this big screen on the wall.

HAHAHAHA!!  Love it!!

If you’re in the Austin area with small children, you definitely need to check this place out.  My kiddos had so much fun.  Until the end.  Nix was over pictures!!

Random question, do you always style your boys' hair? It looks so adorable but I never tried it with my son (who is almost 3).

Yes, TorontoSAM…I pretty much always gel the boy's hair. When Nixon got his first hair cute the stylist, styled it right after and I've been hooked ever since. 🙂
