We had the BEST weekend. It was full of fun, all things Christmas, and some downtime which is always nice. Our festivities started on Thursday afternoon…
We made our annual trip to see Santa! I wish I’d have taken a picture of the boys’ faces when I picked them up from school and told them they needed to put on something festive.
Waiting patiently for the big guy!
Britt talked a big game and as soon as we walked into the room she froze. She managed to squeak out that she’d like a bike for Christmas. Other than that…she wanted nothing to do with Santa.
If you’re local, the Santas in downtown McKinney are THE BEST! You make reservations ahead of time so it’s super easy.

On the way out the local news station was all set up for a big toy drive in downtown McKinney complete with cheerleaders and the local weather man.
Friday morning the big kids choir sang at the mall. The Slaughter kiddos are under the white arrows. Do you recognize the kiddos under the orange arrows?
Then it was back to school to see Bowen’s first grade class present, The Night Before Christmas.
My cutie, Dasher, did such a great job!
Dasher was looking absolutely dashing in his reindeer garb.
Friday afternoon the girls had their dance rehearsal. Miss Britty’s dancing was ON POINT!
We waited patiently for her turn.
When you’re the little sister of four, you have a lot of older friends from those big kids. Miss Caroline was so sweet seeing Britt all dressed up.
The girls kept themselves busy in all different kinds of ways.
Saturday morning, I watched Game Day and drank my coffee…it was glorious!
Then it was recital time for these two!
Bowen and Ashby were waiting patiently for the show to begin.
Can you spot Britty up onstage? She did GREAT during rehearsals, but she got on the stage for the real show and panicked. She DID NOT MOVE during the entire song.
We were so proud of these two dancers…even if one got stage fright.
This tween girl of mine and I had so much fun getting her make-up all ready for the performance.
So thankful to have this guy back ALL WEEKEND LONG!
Me and my girls! We came home and relaxed for a bit after the show before making our way to the…
CHRISTMAS PARADE! I was having so much fun visiting with everyone I didn’t take a single picture. Thankful for friends who text me pictures.
The moral to the story is…we had a great Christmas-filled weekend and I hope you did too! Just NINE more days so we’re packing the fun in!
Happy Monday, Everyone!
XO
Britt, you are too cute.

What a fun and FESTIVE weekend!! Those dancers looked absolutely adorable in their costumes!!!
Awwww! Sweet Britt!
At least you had on DARLING PLAID PANTS! Seriously, SO CUTE! #wellplayedwalmart
I think for my post tomorrow, I'm just going to say "Go read Erika's blog from Monday because that's what we've been up to". Bahahahaha! It was THE MOST FESTIVE weekend of the year!
Such great pictures with wonderful Christmas festivities. My daughter was always horrified of Santa she always refused to have her picture taken with him, at one point we just gave up on it. Beautiful dance costumes. My daughter's dance studio is having their Nutcracker performance this Friday and I'm looking so forward to it. Recital times are always so exciting!

Oh those plaid pants are adorable!! Such a super cute Christmasy outfit!
Love your post! Where are your shoes from?!
So cute that she didn't move at all on stage; I found dress rehearsals were always easier than the actual performance day (and I was in high school!). Sounds like such a fun weekend.
Erika-they're old but from Nordstrom. I got them maybe five years ago from the Anniversary Sale.
