5 Things-2.7.21

It’s MONDAY!!!  And I’m BACK!  All week….or at least that’s the plan.  πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

How was your weekend?  And did you watch The Super Bowl?  If you watched, then you know which one of my kids didn’t go to bed too happy last night.

Any guesses?
Before bed he was already turning it around though and he said, “Well at least we made it to the Super Bowl.”  That’s what I call looking on the bright side.

If your team lost, I hope you’re choosing to look on the bright side too.

Here we go with 5 Things on my mind…

#1 THIS funny my girlfriend, Meagan, shared on IG on Friday is still on my mind.
No truer words have ever been spoken when it comes to The Slaughter living room on a Friday night.  Please tell me we aren’t alone!  Does this happen at your house too?

#2 DATE NIGHT-happens few and far between but they’re always so much fun!  Friday night Tab and I met three other couples at a local favorite for dinner.  Just what I needed after such a busy week.

#3 Does this count as a date too?  Due to gym restrictions, we left all the kids with M and G on Saturday for Ebby Lee’s volleyball tournament.  This was one of those CRAZY LONG tournaments so by late afternoon I found myself nervous snacking.  At a concession stand this is my pick…
with a popcorn!  I actually prefer the EXACT same snack at a movie theater.  What about you?  Do you have a nervous-mom-gym-snack-go-to as well?

#4 This.  Just this.  Whether you’re reading through The Bible Recap or not, you should follow along on Instagram.  The account shares something daily that coincides with the scripture reading, but it could speak to your heart either way.

#5 And I will never watch a Super Bowl without thinking of this girly dressing a little over-the-top for her first Super Bowl in 2018.  Melt.  My.  Heart.  Britt saw this picture over the weekend and asked, “WHAT was I wearing?”.   BAHAHAHAHAHA!!

I can’t even believe it but we have some POSSIBLE sleet/snow in our upcoming forecast later this week.  I’m a bit giddy about simply the possibility and might have gone overboard with chilis and soups for the menu.  Anyway, I think it’s gonna be a great week, ladies!  Let’s do this!  Hope your week is off to a great start!  See you tomorrow, friends!

WOW, just WOW followed this blog for years. My take away today…. YOUR HUBBY HAS HAIR!!It's great hair, why didn't you "strongly suggest" he keep it on his head all these years instead of shaving it bald? I am joking, but my handsome hubby has been fighting for every strand of hair on his head and he's not winning. The crazy random things your readers pick up!!! Love your blog and your cute family.

The Super Bowl kind of stunk but the best part of being a Chiefs fan is that the last 2-3 years have been so much fun to watch. This game was not a representation of their ability. Looking forward to next season! I like your sons outlook!
