10 Things

Last week I did a fun little “10 Things About Me” post where I shared some random things about myself.  I thought it’d be fun to add to that, so today I’m sharing…

10 Things That Make Me Happy

#1  Games
I’m NOT talking about kickball or dodgeball or some athleticy-type sport.  I’m talking Battle of the Sexes, Catch Phrase, Uno, and Candy Land.  Growing up my family was always playing games and it really makes me happy.  In the picture above, that’s my crazy family playing some “Reindeer Games” at Christmas time.

#2  Fun Impromptu Family Time
Like sledding in the snow or late night swimming…those last minute unplanned moments with my family make me really happy.  When we first moved in to the new house, I messed up and we had no water on night #2.  Totally my fault!  It was about 8:30 p.m. when we realized this.  We could have driven to Tab’s parents for showers.  They live close, but we didn’t.  We decided a late-night swim in the pool for everyone at 9:00 would totally count.  I know.  I know.  It was kind of gross, but we had SO much fun late-night swimming as a family.

#3  Date Nights
With little kids date nights are just hard sometimes.  It’s tough finding time at all for just the two of us.  Couple that with the fact that babysitters and dinners out can get expensive, but it’s ALL worth it!  Date nights with this guy make me really happy!

#4  Being Organized
I’m a Type AB person.  Is that a thing?  I feel SO good when everything is organized and planned out (Like a Type A), but sometimes the other half of me (Type B) can’t get motivated to even figure out how to get organized.  Does that make any sense?  haha!  Having a pantry full of groceries, with a planned out menu, and an organized week in my planner makes me so happy.

#5  Seeing My Kiddos Do Something They Enjoy
I’m sure this one will begin to happen more and more when they discover things they really enjoy, but for now-Nixon is a big fan of tee-ball and Ebby Lee likes to dance.  Watching them doing these things, makes my mama heart happy.

#6  My Hobbies-Shopping, Reality TV, and Reading
I think many of us share a love of shopping.  It always makes me happy.  🙂  I’ve also shared my love of good reality tv.  I think many of us share that too!  Big Brother is getting good!!  I actually think I’m a big fan of Austin!!  ha!  He was REALLY funny last night!  And-I really enjoy a good book.  I don’t think I’ve ever shared this book on the blog before, but it’s probably my all-time favorite!  Same Kind of Different As Me-readers, check it out!!  It’s SO good!

#7  Fall Festivities
I’m a HUGE fan of summer.  It’s definitely my favorite holiday hands-down.  I love everything about it…the pool, late nights, lack of a schedule, popsicles, food on the grill, the beach, and I could go on and on.  But-the festivities that surround fall make me really happy.  We are big fans of the fair, football games, the pumpkin patch, and much more.

#8  A Clean House
I’m showing a picture of our old house, because our new one is still a hot mess!  The good news is the hardwood floors are all finished.  We moved in some furniture (not the furniture we plan on keeping but until we buy a few new pieces) and are beginning to see bits of the floor in the garage.  Hallelujah!!  But a clean house before bedtime makes me so happy.  If the sound of the dishwasher is heard, that makes it even better.  #noideawhy

#9  The Twinkling Lights and Sweet Friends
What is about twinkling lights at Christmas time that make everything better?  One of the saddest things about packing up all the Christmas decor is getting rid of those lights!  Plus-these fun girls always make me happy!

#10 YOU
Interacting through the blog world with all of you, makes me happy!  I love sharing life with you guys and hearing about what’s going on with you!  This blog world makes me happy!

What makes you happy???

Happy Monday, Ladies!!  XOXO

Having friends that I can count on. Friends that know me so well that I don't have to finish my sentences most of the time. Friends that I can count on. Friends I can literally call 24/7. Friends that make me laugh. Friends that are there when I need to cry. Friends who love my kids. Friends who feed me. Friends who see me at my worst. Friends who pray for me. Friends like YOU. XO

So much makes me happy. First – my family, of course! My dog. My friends. My students. I could go on and on. But I enjoyed reading your post today, and I totally understand about being an "AB" type person. I feel like that sometimes, too! 🙂
    Have a great week!

    Along the clean house lines….
So the sound of the dishwasher makes you happy…vacuum lines make me happy. Like stupid happy. Empty laundry baskets also make me soooooooooooo happy…… but I think that's only happened like 3 times my whole life. 😉

No! They're cheesy games we do around Christmas so we call them "reindeer games". 🙂

September – December makes me happy! College football, fall décor, pumpkin patches, and crisp weather followed by Christmas music and décor, twinkling lights, hot chocolate, and snuggling with my sweet family watching Christmas movies. Best 4 months of the entire year, hands down!

I am with you on a clean house – even better if someone else cleans it! I hate clutter more than clean though, so as long as it is picked up I am okay with it. I love eating out, plans with friends and a busy calendar – life is better with people!

Haha!!! I'm a type AB as well, so I understand ya. And that book, I guess I'll have to give it another shot. I bought it a couple of years ago and had such a hard time with the cover. The texture was so hard to get past that I never started reading it. Maybe I'll have to buy it on my kindle instead.
